Description I am... well... not in a good way at the moment. So I decided to try and create some beauty in an to attempt to reaffirm any sort of justification of my self-worth. I fell short.

Jazzy, you do realism in a way that stuns me. How do you even manage to capture the likeness of someone so well? Like I don't comment much on your portraits because I'm not always sure who they are or how I can say anything other than "/drool omg realism" but yeah X_X damn, amazing son.

You're too kind to me!
To be perfectly honest, I change how I work a LOT.
I used to think it was all about getting the sketch and the lines right. As if a likeness could be seen in lines alone (which worked to some extent). I would spend 2 or 3 hours getting everything absolutely perfect, but then muck up the shading and the fill. So I've taken recently to just getting a basic structure there then working up bit by bit to a good shape and then mucking around with texture and colour and lighting until I'm happy.
Also I use thousands of layers so if something turns out wrong, I can just delete it >.< Which is why I keep saying I've ruined myself for traditional art.
Basically I just spend hours and hours on them.... and that's no big secret

wooooow...

you have some serious devotion

I used to do that a lot until I realized that I kind of... like seeing mistakes? XD It's hard to explain. Like, yes, I want things to be perfect, but trying to attain that perfection is so tiresome and it ruins the fun of the art in the end :/ so kudos to you for sticking with them for so long, haha!

see I find that bit really really soothing. And I draw mostly because it calms me down when I'm super stressed. When I'm feeling excitable or imaginative I can't manage to sit still for like 7 hrs and do a portrait... but when I have uni projects due and work to go to and shows on, I would sit for DAYS to get them right!
