My first submission. It's simply pencil on paper. I love this sort of art.It holds a meaning of peace and harmony for me as I try and embrace many Buddhist faiths and principals.

OH my god! This is what I've been looking for. I'm slowly but surely immersing myself in the buddhist and taoist faiths. As a reminder to me of these beliefs I have been looking for a tattoo that would encompass everything that the Ohm means. As soon as I laid eyes on this tattoo I knew I had found what I was looking for. I humbly ask your permission to adorn my body with this beautiful piece of art. As I am as yet still to young to legally put this on my body I will have to wait another year for that to happen. But, if you are willing to wait that long I will pay you for this rights to this tattoo (well...the right to put it on my body!) and also send you a picture of the final outcome.

Just an absence of myself really...I can't bring it to life much more than that right now.
I didn't lose interest in my art...I just couldn't do it. I don't know why...I just couldn't bring myself to pick up the pen to write or draw. I hated it...I still hate the fact that I couldn't do it...

I know that feeling, I've had that for the past time too. Though I've talked to some people here on DA and had amazing advice about drawing and stuff.. I hope to post some drawings very soon. Hopefully in the next month or two.

I'm getting a lotus tattoo as well. But instead of an "om" symbol I have a cresent moon and a star already tattooed on me. No affiliation to religion. I just love them.

Pretty neat. I can definetly see the incubus influences in it. Can i assume your tibetan buddhist? The om you have drawn there is more of a hindu sign, however tibetan buddhist use the om in a few of their mantras (like the one in your avatar).

Well, I'm learning more and more about Buddhism itself...and so I'm slowly embracing it. Tibetan Buddhism appeals a lot to me...
I'm promising myself now to actually begin regularly meditating...especially now with more time on my hands to focus on it.
You seem to know a lot of eastern philosophies etc., so I thank you for your wisdom here.

Thats pretty cool that your embracing tibetan buddhism. I myself, am trying out Theravada Buddhism, but havn't had much time with it, maybe over summer break, when i'll have tons of time. Anyways, good luck with your meditation. I don't really know all that much about eatern philosophies, mainly Buddhism and Hinduism, i find them to be very interesting.

Well, a +fav would indicate that I think 'tis a marvellous design.
I'm a quietly very much a fan of the om/ohm, and what it stands for, and your representation of it in this particular instance, as well as the lotus, is particularly well done..and adds a slightly modern touch to it all.
I think it's brilliant, and have been musing over colouring it.
The sigh, is that I don't particularly approve of tattoos, and as much as I love the design, would never get it done, and it's also a vague sigh of jealousy that I've never been able to draw it so well
Lawrd, a few dots and a sigh can convey alot :-p

A new "take" on the ohm and lotus. I like it. It's great that you're exploring Buddhism. I embraced it as a path because of it's openness and self exploration rather than so many dogmas or strictures.

I can agree with what you are saying. I'm embracing Buddhism for its openness and its ability to allow for that exploration and development of oneself both spiritually and morally...if you get my meaning. I am very intrigued by the scriptures nonetheless, but that isn't the reason that draws me to Buddhism.
Do you know of any other Buddhists here on DA? Or a group?
