I hope that his situation is temporary, as I begin to think that this decision was made because the fans of Sonic, but that only games, who read the comic, do not like the highlighting of the SonSal couple and setting aside of the SonAmy couple. But the authors wanted to keep the character because she was a key figure in the comic.

So, at the same time to existing the character, they had to rewrite the script of the next issues, by passing Sally, of good camp to evil camp, and transforming it into a robot. And to justify all this, they create a series of unexpected and even sometimes unacceptable plots.

That way, they can highlight the couple SonAmy, to please the fans of Sonic games, dissatisfied with the comic. It's not because I am a hater of SonAmy I say that. Besides, I like almost as much Amy than Sally. It's just the exigent fans of this couple makes me sick.

The cynic in me thinks they'll turn her back to normal with issue #250. In the meantime, they've had plenty of experience with portraying Jules, also a roboticized Mobian, as sympathetic and believable character, right?

I'm not too happy about them wanting to kill Sally this badly either, or how they're acting about the whole thing and joking about it <,<

Just leaves to wonder if she's going to stay like that now or if they'll manage to turn her back to normal like when Sonic and Knuckles were roboticized ages ago.

Ian Flynn was the one who slowly restored Sally's personality from Ken Penders and Karl Bollers who wrecked her personality and made people hate her. He spent all this time restoring her character. No way did I think for a second thatο»Ώ he would kill her off. I just simple logic on how he kept henting Sonally out.

There always did seem to be a force against Sally in the works, starting all the way back when she was supposed to have actually died many many comics ago <,<

I think what annoys me the most is the way she "dies" mixed with how they talk about it in the fan letter section.

I am just going to explain to you on what I told SonicSatamX93 "Didn't seem like a cop out to me by a long shot! Ian Flynn was the one who slowly restored Sally's personality from Ken Penders and Karl Bollers who wrecked her personality and made people hate her. He spent all this time restoring her character. No way did I think for a second that he would kill her off. I just simple logic on how he kept henting Sonally out. What people don't realize in Sonic #230, as the tears came down Sally's face, is that Sally whole character was redeemed. The slap of #134 that hack writer Karl Bollers wrote and Ken Penders turning Sally into a Mary sue, just recieved huge blow. Sally sacrficing herselfο»Ώ has redeemed her character. Ian Flynn is a genius."

How did they hint Sonally out by making them a major couple again directly before these events?

And how did killing her off with a wall gun in any way make it a good way for her to die? If she pushed Sonic out of the way of something sure that counts for something but not this way. She died from something that every single character dodges easily on a daily basis >.>

Yeah Sally's character was pretty crappy for a while, but fixing her just to turn her into a major Metal villain is kinda meh.

And if they really felt that way about redeeming her, why do they only mock her death in the fan letter section?

TheEzekiel300 In reply to Gameboysage [2011-11-01 03:07:06 +0000 UTC]

"How did they hint Sonally out by making them a major couple again directly before these events?"
He did in issue 187 where Sonic and Sally almost kissed. And let's not forget in #209 where it was Sonic who calmed her down. 214 hinted strongly of Sonally.

"Yeah Sally's character was pretty crappy for a while, but fixing her just to turn her into a major Metal villain is kinda meh."
It was a major Sacrifice and it shows that Sally isn't selfish as the haters claimed her to be. She sacrificed herself for friends and of course, Sonic. I admit I felt like you, when I first heard of Sally being robotisized, but when I saw that panel and the tears in her eyes and the vision of her 1st kiss with Sonic, my whole perception of this changed. She will be back and I just love the romantic, "HI SAL!" that kept popping up. To me her inner character that was revealed before he sacrifice overwhelms the fact that she is a robot now. That's who Sally really is no matter what happened to her body.

"And how did killing her off with a wall gun in any way make it a good way for her to die? If she pushed Sonic out of the way of something sure that counts for something but not this way. She died from something that every single character dodges easily on a daily basis >.>"
What does it matter now, the point is that Sonic saved her. That was just to add drama and to keep the comic interesting. Least she will live. Who knows. Maybe she would have dodged it if Sonic hadn't been goofing around. She didn't expect that gun. She has dodged nacks bullets before.

"And if they really felt that way about redeeming her, why do they only mock her death in the fan letter section?"
I don't know what comic you were reading, but in the fan letter section of comic 226, people were upset when it looked like Sally was dead. And on the bumbleking website they did a poll on if Sally should live or not and 60 percent said she should live while 9 percent said she shouldn't. Please try and keep an open mind about this. Ian has done a lot for Sally's character. There is a lot of substance of good things concerning Sally which needs to be acknowledge. She is still a true hero.

For the top one I thought you meant they were fazing their couple out of existence as in saying they wouldn't be together. Just read wrong I guess.

Plenty of better ways to sacrifice herself then getting done in by any random wall cannon. (Not like she could have stopped Sonic from reversing time even if she wanted to)

Yeah she dodged Nacks bullets, having her die to a random run of the mill wall cannon is super lazy writing. And I can understand Sonic getting happy over a metal Sonic to play with after dealing with all that political crap, but what ever happened to character development? They turned Sonic into his old self all over again, bye bye growth -.-

You should read the responses those angry fans got from the Sonic team for their sadness and fears over Sally's possible death.

Yap a true hero, but she didn't need to be killed in a lazy way and turned into a metal martyr to confirm that. I WILL concede that it's too early to write it all off though; only time will tell if he can fix this whole mess of if he just really wanted SonAmy all along. I heard at the next milestone Sally might get saved, so here's hoping.

Ian has said there will be no SonAmy! Sonamy is not going to happen. Her mind is still at 12. Ian has gave Sonally too much substance. Simple logic will tell you that! Sonic is supposed to be care free, and Sally supposed to be the calm one. No one can predict what can happen, he isn't perfect, and I think his writing was top notch.

All the "HI SAL" moments was just romantic. The substance he gave Sonally was just too great and in my eyes covers the fact that she is a robot, now.

I am not saying Ian is perfect, but he has done a great job in telling stories. I give him an 8 out of 10 sometimes a 9. As a SatAM fan myself, I enjoyed every panel. His writing is superb. And I felt he read my mind anyway. I always imagined something bad happening to Sally, just for an excuse for Sonic to prove how much he loves her. I just love the way Sonic saved Sally at the very begining and Sally saw the, "HI SAL!" Something tells me that may be the Key to her turning her back to normal. I am sorry you feel this way, but the substance Ian gave Sally over the years was just too great. AND in my opinion just overwhelms the robotization thing!

That's right. It's good to hear a bit of hope in that comment of yours. It's not over yet. Sonamy fans can cheer all they want, but this comic is centered around Sonally. You'd have to be blind if you can't see it XD

Gameboysage In reply to TheEzekiel300 [2011-11-01 19:38:33 +0000 UTC]

I don't have much hope, but yeah it's too early to wig out and cut it off entirely when she technically isn't even roboticized yet lol. As long as she doesn't flat out die there's always a chance to fix this mess.

And the problem with comics is how all it take is a bad writer or decision to make people start acting entirely out of character...Marvel and DC comics are a good example of that >< I heard he plans to give Amy a larger roll in the comic, let's just hope you're right and he doesn't jump the shark with a Sonamy relationship.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheEzekiel300 In reply to Gameboysage [2011-11-02 04:52:05 +0000 UTC]

All I can go by is Ian's word. He say's there will be no relationship between Sonic and Amy. In my opionion, it seems as Ian has had enough with the relationship drama anyway. concerning his comments I have been reading. Ian has also said Amy is in need of character development. There is something about that "HI SAL!" thing Ian's got going on that just won't let go of me.

"And the problem with comics is how all it take is a bad writer or decision to make people start acting entirely out of character" Well Ken Penders and Karl Bollers are the Kings of that. With Ian it seems everyone stays in character, pretty much.

Well, they did completely undo the stupid wall cannon death and turned it into a very noble self sacrifice to save the entire world...so I'll give them points for making Sally's roboticization epic and awesome...

I still think it sucks she's gonna be a robotic villain for at least the next two or so years though <,<

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheEzekiel300 In reply to Gameboysage [2011-11-06 11:06:45 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I admit it sucks, I agree with you on that, but at least her inner character was saved. Heck, I am still trying to explain to Sonamy fans about the fact that issue 134 was written by that horrible writer Karl Bollers and that Ken Penders was the one who ruined Sally's personality. The Amy fans are even editing from the 222 issue and putting Amy in Sonic's arms instead of Sally and they all make that same issue 134 argument.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Gameboysage In reply to TheEzekiel300 [2011-11-06 19:41:10 +0000 UTC]

Oye, don't get me started on the comic around the #134 area...I consider it the lost period of the comic. The art style was horendous and Sally's whole "either stop saving the world and sit on the throne with me, or I'm leaving" while running out of the party while crying thing was plain dumb. She even came back later on saying she was 100% at fault for that one <,<

Still can't base an entire character on just one scene or possibly even arch though, especially if it was one writer in charge of that whole part.

There is a reason why people are afraid of the Sonic fan base though...a bunch of them are kind of nuts and don't listen to logic one bit lol.

It's called making people's favorite character be a brainwashed villain for a few years, making the comic not worth it for them to get <,< Plenty of TV shows have gotten canceled due to low ratings after the hack writers have pulled stunts like this on well loved good guy type characters.

And who says Sally can't still hog the show, only as a jerkish brainwashed villain now? Instead of being a mary-su to them they'll only have more reason to draw hate art of her now cause it's more justified as she tries to destroy any Mobian she sees >.>

As TheRealRNO told, me they already hated her anyway, because there Sonamy fans! Ian is hero the man deserves a metal. This coming from a Sonally fan. "Hack writers." The only hack writers I know of is, Ken Penders and Karl Bollers. Thanks to them Sally was hated. Good riddance to those jerk wads. Ian restored Sally's inner character and that's enough for me. I don't expect him to be perfect. Fans in general complained he was too predictable in 2010. Well here you go. He kept you guessing didn't he. Superb imagination Ian Flynn has, which unleashes the kid in me. Grown ups over analyze the comic when they forget that this comic also for kids as well as adults. and some should say we should think about the kids more than the adults. Ian spent all this time restoring Sally's character now way does Sally being robotisized angers me one bit. Sally's inner Character>Mecha Sally. Sonic and Sally Shall be together again and their relationship even stronger once this is over!
