I agree with the whole you can't change gay. But you can't force your opinion on people, if they don't like gay people, leave them be, i't's their choice.
And the way you are handling this is very VERY immature.
Fighting hate with hate?
I think you need to grow up.

I heard a comedian say "If you're against marrying the same sex then don't marry the same sex!" Yay open-mindedness!

If they love someone of the same sex so be it. People should leave them alone. Gay people don't harass straight people. Honestly. People should give it a rest leave gay people alone. Call it a day.

Wait....... I'm confused on what you mean. Do you mean that you can't change what gay is... or the fact that "gayness" is in existence.. and do you also mean that you can change your mind about being gay, contrary to what homos say: that people are born gay, and can not change... ?

I think it means that the people who are against gays can't change them (gay people) but they can change their mind about hating gays. C:

I agree with your slogan, not your comments about it.
Now, please, for the love of Jashin, do NOT call me a homophobe. I'm bisexual. I have a girlfriend, and I'm proud of that fact. But, you know, what you've been saying in the comments is a lot like what the religious are doing with their religion.
You are shoving your beliefs down their throats like it's your cock.
I'm content with who I am and who I like, and if someone protests DIRECTLY TO ME, yes, I get pissed, and YES, I tell them off for it. But I'm not forcing it onto people. Sure, they can hate whoever they want. I hate most of the world. I hate extreme Christians. I hate other religious extremists. I hate people who hate me. I hate God. I hate the Bible. I hate soooo many people... Why should I change my opinions because someone called ME a retard and said "LOOK HERE. PROOF."?
I'm not going to. Because I'm a stubborn little ass.
Some people hate. They might hate for the wrong or totally messed up reasons, but they hate. Please don't fuel it.

not really no, but it'd be even more uncomfortable if they were "gay."
(its just because of the way i was raised with 3 other brothers and the environment i grew up in) its not that i have anything against "gay" couples at all, just that it's slightly more uncomfortable around them then say a straight couple...

I am going to fave this, only because I think people really need to grow up with the whole 'Oh lol look that guy is gay!' So what!!! He or she is just another person existing on this planet trying to be happy!
That is my opinion, I dont force it upon people.

very nice! Although one could argue that if you can change your mind, then you can change gay, because theoretically such things (love etc) is in your mind.

It takes a lot to change a person's mind. And if a homophobe pays any attention to this, they probably feel strongly about their opinions. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a homophobe. I'm bisexual, myself. But I also think you're being judgemental. You assume that everyone who dislikes gays simply doesn't understand them, which I find rather narrow-minded. Because I know that before I make any big decision, I look at the situation from every angle. Homophobes aren't stupid, or simple-minded, or too lazy to try and understand. They simply have different opinions from you, and they have a right to. I also think that you need to learn the difference between a homophobe and a bigot. Not everyone is going to be comfortable with two people of the same gender being together romantically/sexually, and I think a lot of people need to accept that simple fact.

Except there's a big difference between "being uncomfortable with it" and flat out being a homophobe. Being a homophobe is very comparable to being racist or sexist -- all three are detrimental to human rights and dignity, and thus all three need to stop.

The difference being the one between homophobes and bigots, which I've aleady pointed out.

...a bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs. Not being comfortable with something is one thing, but a bigot takes it to action against the people they are uncomfortable with. They most certainly are not the same.

SDNolan In reply to Zapheil [2011-05-17 03:33:26 +0000 UTC]
...Which is what I just said. I'm a little confused-- we seem to be arguing the same viewpoint.

Zapheil In reply to SDNolan [2011-05-17 03:40:42 +0000 UTC]
I was saying that a person who's simply uncomfortable with homosexuality is different than a straight out homophobe. You said that that's the difference between a homophobe and a bigot, thus saying that a person who's uncomfortable with homosexuality is a bigot. They are not! A bigot is violent towards people who are "different," and you can be uncomfortable about something without being violent about it! So no, we are not arguing the same viewpoint -- far from it.

SDNolan In reply to Zapheil [2011-05-17 03:50:42 +0000 UTC]
No, I said that a person who is uncomfortable with homosexuality is a homophobe, and that they're not the ones people should have a problem with-- the bigots are. What you're saying is exactly what I said in my first comment. I think you misunderstood.

Not necessarily, though. I don't like eating mushrooms, does that mean I have a phobia of them? Being uncomfortable with something doesn'talways mean it's a phobia.
