Yeah I know, it's a break up song but there's nothing else in my library that even remotely fits. I'm pretty damn happy with this. Even if the anatomy's not all that accurate and it is awfully sketchy but I was going more for emotion than anything else. Not sure if the sizes are right and his mother doesn't look that much like a Quarter horse but meh, I really like this.
Just for the record, no, I've never seen The Neverending Story. Nicholas' mother's death was inspired by this story;

Nicholas is a bit under two in this, so I guess that'd make him 13 to 15 human years. This is a few hours before his mother died. It was a pretty slow death. I know, I'm evil.

I've heard of the scene, and the rumours that the horse actually did die in that scene (as in, the special effects rigging malfunctioned and the horse actually drowned, but those are just rumours) but I never actually sat down and watched the movie. That is a terribly sad scene though
Oooh, I'm glad you noticed the parallels with "The boy who cried wolf". The original file name of this picture was called 'Cry Wolf' but I couldn't come up with a title that didn't sound too silly xD
The worst part is that they had literally HOURS to save her. Nicholas diidn't trust the ranchers enough to go to them for help, the horses didn't listen and that basically shattered what little trust he had in either species

Oh man, that movie messed me up. That death was so unexpected.
But damn, the boy who cried wolf is one of my favourite old story lessons. And the image of a cocky boy who pull pranks and lies only to finally face a real situation but have no one that listen to him. That get my statistic heart going, BUT SEEING OTHERS DO IT TO THEIR CHARACTERS AINT OKAY POOR CHILD.
Nicholas you poor boy, all your characters need to go to a psychotherapist that's basically a mirror of them self talking to them.

I mean, every time I try to make a happy normal character I'll give them a small quirk and then a start thinking about how they got that quirk and then boom. Tragic backstory.
Originally Nicholas was just a cocky bastard but then I started thinking why and then this happened xD

Emotional pieces are most definitely my favourite I guess 'type' of art I guess. Doesn't matter if the art isn't the greatest, if it tells a story it's love <3

Are you kidding me? Everyone saw The Neverending story. You must be from another planet baby. From a better planet! Because this film was a 102 minutes of my line I will never get back.
I have to say I love it that you give your arts a theme songs. When I roleplay I tend to do that too so it's pretty close to my heart.
This story is so sad. Poor mare, I hate to see the animals suffer. Nicholas had to take it really hard. It's a situation and memory that changes one forever.

I might'be glanced at it on TV but honestly, I never sat down and watched the full thing. If I did, I barely remember it, let alone remember Artax's (?) Death. I was one of those kids that only watched cartoons growing up. Actually, I used to watch the Never ending Story cartoon I think xD
I always like to listen to music when I draw/RP (although half the time, the music doesn't match at all hahaha).
And he really did. It's pretty much why he has absolutely no trust in anyway, ever. Not sure he'll ever find anyone that can deal with him xD

Well I may be looking through my old old eyes but yeah.. It's not worth it. Though I'd prefer to show my kid neverending story that cartoons these days. Once there were many fun cartoons and now it's all blood and gore :U
I think we all do like listening to music while drawing. It tends to get on out mood 
And don't you give up on that guy. He deserves to be loved, he has to believe in it tooooo! Someone just fall over heels for him in first sight and bang! It's done bby! Weather you like it or not the pink glasses will face everything ^^

Though I feel cartoons these days just aren't nearly as good as the old ones. Maybe it's just nostalgia but it seems the stuff I watched (Animaniacs, Digimon, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Avatar) is just better written than the stuff today. But meh, maybe I just grew up xD
Haha, I tend to find that one song and listen to it over and over again for days on end until I get sick of it. After that it's just cycling through previous stuff (what I'm doing now). I don't tend to follow music, I just listen to something on YouTube and download it xD My library is all rock, metal and a bit of random stuff so sometimes it's hard to find a song that fits what I'm drawing lols

I didn't say I do not like it. I said it's unfit for kids (0-14 years old) these days. I grew up on Scooby-Doo, Moomin on this kind of cartoons. And they were good! I am not sure if when I was five and watched Happy three Friends I wouldn't grow up as a total psycho. I know these are just cartoons but still I wouldn't want to explain my daughter what gut's are just because she watched some stupid cartooon xP
Yup, Digimon, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball all that jazz. It was fun (though Dragon Ball in our TV was pretty much censored in many ways 
I do that too. Lately it was Ed Sheeran songs. I listen to any kind of music though (mostly in english). I don't really listen to music on youtube though, maybe I should start. But where to find time on all of the stuff I wanna doooo...!

Oh got cha. I was watching all the 'kids animes' at that age but dragon Ball was the most 'mature' I got. Happy tree friends actually freaks me out even now O.O
I don't know what it is, I can watch other gorey shows but not happy tree friend O.O
I think it's the same or even more so with video games. I love video games but SO MANY parents don't care about the age rating and then complain that games are too violent -.-
I mean, just because it's a video game doesn't mean it's for kids -sigh-
I find youtube a great place to look for songs. I watch a lot of artists and usually they'll use songs in their drawing videos ^^
