Gah. Love. Lovelovelove. This is almost exactly how I envisioned them when I read the series. The incredible detail accentuated by the focal blur is a neat effect.

Whoa, this is just so creepy! For some reason I always imagined the spike to be pointy on both sides, so that it sticks out the head in the front and in the back. Possible that I just didn't read carefully enough though. Anyways, nice work!

Extremely cool! The tattoos should be different (they are described as intricate patterns that surround the eyes, and there's an in-world significance to them related to the Steel Ministry), but the spikes look great, I love the tonal values and textures you've used.
