i'd love to get to them someday! unfortunately the other characters are more linear in their personality development so i'd have to do a lot of binge watching to get more out of them than just X character slowly getting meaner or whatever. double d is a real golden goose in this department

Well they definitely did dumb Ed down, which was one of the worst character flanderizations. Nazz became less the girl next door and more of a mean girl in S5. Rolf started off the series as an extroverted introvert and Kevin was an introverted extrovert but they kinda reversed their roles, esp. in S5. Rolf is not only bossier towards Kevin, whereas previously it was the other way around, but he also seems to distance himself from the group more which is a far cry from the ''I was born to be wild'' line in S2 when he has no real issue of fitting in and being the life of the party. Now suddenly we see him sitting alone under the school bleachers and suffering from stage fright at the spelling bee, until he is a completely reserved lone wolf in BPS. Jimmy is much more shy at the start of the series, too, and speaks more nasally, but he starts to come out of his shell a bit more and embrace the extroverted person he wants to be (not to mention his sudden character development of his dark side showing through no thanks to Eddy). 
Jonny's a bit hard to pin point as his sudden descent into madness seems to come out of nowhere... his personality is pretty inconsistent because sometimes he's a pacifist who helps the Eds, whereas other times he teams up with the kids against them. 
Sarah stays mostly the same. She has the most development in BPS but it's short lived. 
The Kankers are relatively the same. 
Eddy has such a big character arc that I can't even type it all out. XD

thank you!! S5 edd was hella fun to draw too! i think my favorite one to draw was s1 just bcause of how rarely i draw him like that. it was refreshing aha
