Description This here is the First Jolly Roger flown by "Richard Worley"

In Johnson's General History Worley's Roger was described as: "a black Ensign, with a white Death's Head in the Middle of it"

When Worley started his career, this Jolly Roger had not yet have any markings on it, and was therefore a "plain black assign"

This flag is similar to Worley's famous print ([link] )
With the exception that the two crossed bones are missing.

It is very possible that the two bones were later added to the description in order to make Worley's flag more of a Stereotype Pirate Flag.

I used the skull of Worley's print for this flag, but adjusted it, in order to make it less of an unusual skull compared to skulls in other Jolly Roger prints.

Thats the flag of Captain Hook in a anime series - I was surprised how much they did the research.

Really? Very interesting!

The only Peter Pan anime I've seen (a few times) is the one where captain hook has a crab like claw instead of a hook. Can't remember what his Roger looked like though...

That what I was referring to. They had all names correct and made some references, what Disney never did.

Looks prety good, I like how it's all bumpy and not smooth.

Thanks,

I've done this with just about every Jolly Roger I've put on so far, because around that time the white marking were made by entirely by hand, and not by any professional,
But basically by anyone who had some skill with a needle and yarn.

Furthermore flags around that time usually didn’t have the 3-5 feet size that you commonly get when you buy a Jolly Roger today.
They usually where bigger than that, and making a god looking skull at that size isn’t an easy task. So It’s obviously they where never really perfect.

...savvy

..... I guess I made a number of typing errors there...

It's "making a GOOD looking skull"... not a god looking skull...
