Description Ok, I've been meaning to draw this piece for a LONG time now. This is a scene from one of my new favorite video games, "Indigo Prophecy" (the UK version is called "Fahrenheit").
This game made me realize my PS2 was capable of soooo much more than I had originally thought it was able to do. I've played countless games over the years, I've conquered worlds, I've saved worlds, I had thought I had done it all. Until I played this game that is...
The action scenes in "Indigo Prophecy" are without a doubt incredible and will take your breath away. But this was the first time in a game I was able to pick up a glass of milk, and get this, make my character drink it! Doing mundane tasks and interact with inanimate objects, that in normal games would be intangible, totally blew my mind! Never have I been so thrilled to turn on faucets, open cupboard doors or pick up the daily newspaper!
I've only been putting off drawing something for this game because I was afraid that my drawing might not do justice to this infinitely awesome game. I decided on drawing something from my favorite action scene only because I doubt anyone would care if I drew a picture of the main character fiddling with objects (even though it would mean a lot to me, no one else would get it...).
The scene I picked out was from a very action-packed event where the main character (Lukas Kane) is attacked while he was taking refuge in a near-by church. But get this, he's attacked by the beautiful angel statues on the walls!
Below in my artist's comments you can click on a video to see this very cool scene. As you watch it you'll notice some colorful symbols appearing on the screen. Those are the directions you are prompted to press on your left and right joy sticks in order to evade the angel's attacks. Sometimes in battles you also have to press L1 and R1 back and forth in situations that require strength. That may sound simple but it stresses out your arms really quickly so you better have a lot of stamina if you have any hopes of surviving!

Cool trailer video: [link]

I would compare the plot of this game to "The Matrix." Personally, I liked the first Matrix movie but I hated the last two... They seriously disappointed me. This game is how I imagine the last Matrix would have been if it had been good. I apologize if you are a fan of "The Matrix," but this is just my personal opinion.
But if you really want a game with a great storyline and unique gameplay, give "Indigo Prophecy" a shot!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I drew this whole thing with a single ball point pen. Hehehe...

I have one other Indigo Prophecy fan art in my gallery somewhere too. The thing I liked most about the game was the button timing action scenes. Oh and Lucas was definately my favorite character!

Yeah, this game is like the perfect mix of all the best elements from The Matrix and CSI. It's got crime solving and matrix battles, what more could you want in a video game? It is "perfection!" I'm glad you like this, sorry that my work is mostly anime style though.

Well I gotta admit I am an anime fan girl but I'm not obnoxious about it. One thing I find kinda sad though is almost everyone who watches me only does it to see my fan art. It's rare that anyone checks out my original art. My fan art is nice and all, but I think my original art is FAR better.

Manga is one of my biggest addictions, the only thing I'm more obsessed with would have to be video games. I'm currently reading the manga D-Grayman. It's really cool.

Gah! I told you that I would send you a copy of the game if you want! That's why I purposely bought an extra copy! I played through the extra copy (because I bought it used) and it works like new. I'll still send it to you if you change your mind.
It's one of my favorite games, it's different because the only buttons you ever use are L1 and R1 and of course the joysticks. The game is like a mix of The Matrix and CSI. Both of which are freakin' awesome but together they create something entirely new and I love it! I'm glad you took a look at the videos, I've been telling you about this game for a while now and now you can see it's awesomeness for yourself!

I really hope you could get a PS2, but sure I'll put the game in the package I've got going for you. Crap, I've burned a rediculous amount of cds for you... The collection might have to be broken up into two packages if I want to squeeze in any snacks or tea like I usually do.

Rosydragon In reply to Jagarnot [2008-02-12 20:04:27 +0000 UTC]

Ahhh! ridiculous amounts of CDs is a good thing! there's nothing like getting new music... I'm going to have to stock up again, so I can send you some new stuff!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jagarnot In reply to Rosydragon [2008-02-12 20:59:14 +0000 UTC]

I've been busy for the last few days making covers for all of the cds I've burned for you. I know I didn't have to do that but it seemed like a fun project and it's giving me a little break from my usual art projects. The covers I've made are sort of my own recreations of the original covers or other stuff that I just thought seemed like fun to draw. I've even put Shardz on a few of the covers for the heck of it!
I would totally love more cds from you of course, I've been really enjoying listening to your cds while I'm at work. Since it's just me and my mom working alone at night it's nice to have a fun and noisy distraction in an empty theater. It's very haunted at my theater, you know? The ghosts make lots of noise and so I play louder noise to block them out.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rosydragon In reply to Jagarnot [2008-02-16 00:48:57 +0000 UTC]

Haha, oh man, I wish I worked harder on your CDs... but... stick figures are so fun!

Aha! I'm glad you like my music though. If you ever want me to look up a band for you I can give it a shot! Haha, more to block out those pesky ghosts!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jagarnot In reply to Rosydragon [2008-02-16 11:58:19 +0000 UTC]

Oh don't worry, I enjoyed your stick figures. They made me happy! I worry about what you'll think of the music I'm sending you though, you'll either love it or hate it... I don't know, much of it is an acquired taste and a great deal of the cds (that isn't Gary Numan) are really weird techno.
But yes, the ghosts in my theater are very noisy. They whistle, bang stuff around and laugh at me... I desperatly needed more music to block that out! The ghosts are never visable but I've heard them more times than I'd like to think about.
I don't know what bands to request though... My favorite music genres would have to be industrial, darkwave and techno. I know that's vague, but I pretty much love anything that falls under any of those genres! But I trust your taste too, I've enjoyed everything you've sent me so far.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rosydragon In reply to Jagarnot [2008-03-12 22:58:09 +0000 UTC]

Haha yeah... I was worried about you liking my music too... except the difference is that mine's not an acquired taste, it's more like the numbing of brain cells until the vague feeling of liking it sets in haha! Especially with polysics.. (what did you think of that by the way?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jagarnot In reply to Rosydragon [2008-03-13 03:27:42 +0000 UTC]

Polysics was pretty fun, I think it might have annoyed my mom though... Oh, I know a request now! If you could possibly find anything by the band "Project Pitchfork" I will love you forever! I love all of their work but I don't have any of it... Sorry I'm not ready to send you stuff yet but I've been busy preparing for Sakuracon and saving up money for it. As you know, I procrastinate with sending stuff... but at least you know you'll get it eventually.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rosydragon In reply to Jagarnot [2008-03-13 05:47:36 +0000 UTC]

Project pitchfork, eh? It shall be done! Feel free to ask for anything else you think of too!
Hahaha, and basically everyone I know is pissed off by Polysics... My friend won't let me listen to em when she's around! Although I'm scouting out this guy i just started talking to in my life drawing class.. he likes weird asian music so I'll hafta test him with this! He's also really adorable so I just want to give him stuff haha!

I'm really not ready to give you more stuff either! I need a while to restock my supplies!

Jagarnot In reply to Rosydragon [2008-03-13 20:17:40 +0000 UTC]

I know you're going to freak out when you see the cds I've got for you, not because of the bands I've selected (because I doubt you've heard of many of them) but because of the custom cd covers I drew for all of them! It took me ages to think up stuff to draw that worked well for each band...
That sounds like fun giving music to that guy, maybe I'll seduce myself a cute nerd at Sakuracon...

There were these stone angels in it that snuck up on people...

Oh my god, I know exactly what episode you're talking about! I adore the show Dr. Who and follow it quite closely (it's one of my many fandoms). Well these angels were just as scary and dangerous! But that was an excellent episode of Dr. Who! I'm happy that you got the chance to see it!

NamineGhostGirl In reply to Jagarnot [2008-01-28 01:14:57 +0000 UTC]

Yesh. I watched the scene and they are almost the same thing! XD
Why were they attacking him though? Do random things like that do that though out that game or is it him going crazy? I tried reading about the story line, but it doesn't give all that much information.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jagarnot In reply to NamineGhostGirl [2008-01-28 05:53:21 +0000 UTC]

Well it's never really known. But that's because Lukas Kane has been having halucinations through out the whole game. One of the other great halucination scenes happened to him while he was in his office and was attacked by cyber bugs. They started killing everyone in the office and you have to try and escape, after a while you find him being woken up by his co-workers telling him that he had a halucination caused by a seizure.
So I can only assume it was something similiar, although it is still a life and death sequence. Fear the angels!
You can watch every single cinematic of the game on YouTube, so you could find out for yourself if you like. Story summaries probably won't explain it very well, so if you really want to know that's what I'd do.

I've noticed that most of the cinematic clips on YouTube seem to be numbered, so it shouldn't be all that hard. Someone was nice enough to record every scene in the whole game so you can watch it as if you were watching a movie in multiple parts. After playing this game I sorta ended up with a crush on Lukas Kane... he was amazing!

Lukas isn't gay, but he is dead and he is taken. He sleeps with one of the main characters when he comes back from the dead. It was a pretty hot scene too! I wish I had the UK version of the game, the sex scene in the American version is edited...
