The design changes were also to make the machop line more appealing to me. I think it's funny - I used to hate the machop line, but after playing around with Rhonda's character, I read fell in love with it! I'm glad you did too!

You know I don't really like Machops much. But There was something about Rhonda I just adored right away. I couldn't really pinpoint it at first until I thought about it.
She sorta reminds me of Raphael from TMNT, especially with the green eyes sine Raph has green eyes in the 2012 TMNT show. -Raph is my fav ninja turtle!-
I'm not comparing her to Raph, just saying she reminds me a lot of him.
But --- that's not the main reason I adore Rhonda!
I adore her because she's one of the cutest lil Machops I ever have seen. Also I love how expressive she is, and that she doesn't take anyone's shit. She's a rough and tough pokemon and she will not hesitate to fight anyone. I love her personality, she's a really unique character to me. She's funny, quirky, a bad ass bitch and a softie all at once. I love her and look forward to seeing more of her in the comic!

I never liked Machops much either, until I used one in-game and started creating Rhonda's character.
To tell you the truth, her design might have been a little inspired by TMNT, at least subconsciously, since I was watching the 2012 show around the time I was creating her. I like Raph, too (though I have a soft spot for Donatello, as well).
I'm glad you love all of those things about her. I put a lot of work into developing her character and I'm glad she came out really well in-comic. Thank you again!

Raph is my fave ninja turtle but I also love Donnie. Heck I love all of 'em but Raph has always been my favorite. I can relate to him the most with his hotheadnesses, his stubborness and his anger issues. I'm like a mini Raph, though I have much better control over my temper.
You're welcome. I think Rhonda is probably my favorite character in the Nuzlocke! It would be a joy to see her get all the way through! But you know, sometimes things happen! She may get through the locke, or she might not. I'll just have to wait and see!
Machop was one of my least favorite Pokemon, up until I saw Rhonda and she made me appreciate Machops more! I now consider Machop as one of my favorite pokemon, thanks to Rhonda!~

Wow! That is certainly high praise! I'm glad you like my nuzlocke so much, and that Rhonda was able to change your opinion on Machops.
I think the reason why I thought of TMNT while working on Rhonda's design is because their general body shape is kind of what I wanted to go for (you know, minus the shells). I love them all as well! It's a great series!
Hopefully Rhonda will be with the team for a good long while. But nuzlockes are nuzlockes and I can't promise anything.
