Inktober 2019
A new year a new challenge! This time I'm actually using the official 2019 prompt list , but with a twist! I want to practice my life drawing skills, so this time I'm taking things in my surroundings or things that I find in real life that fit the prompt theme. Because of this, not all things may fit the prompt directly, so they will largely be my interpretation of the theme or the subject that I'm drawing. I'm also allowing myself to get a little creative or slightly edit or adjust the thing that I draw to fit the theme. But the basis of the subject must be copied from real life. As an extra challenge, I'm also not allowing myself to sketch the subject in pencil first and instead am going straight to inking. Wish me luck!
October 2nd - Mindless
There's this creepy baby statue near where my friends live that just is sitting in the middle of this random overgrown patch of grass. There's nothing around it that indicates that there was meant to be a statue or anything. It is in a public space, but its not like there are fountains or a garden or anything that would lead me to believe that the statue's placement was deliberate. It's not even in the center of the patch, just kind of awkwardly off to the side. I'm like 99% certain it is cursed. So I drew a picture of it!
I did make some changes here. The statue itself doesn't have plants growing out of it; I just added that to fit the prompt. I'm still using my brush-tip pens and none of them are green, so I made due with the yellow and blue ones. I suppose I could have edited the hue in photoshop, but I felt like that would be cheating.
