Wow - I can only dream of being able to do something like this one day! Where/how did you learn to do it? Very intense, mesmerizing, a beautiful work of art.

I did a course in make-up...in which I learnt different styles of make-up, period make-up etc...
Looked through a few magazines, watching video clips helps as well. I find that with make-up if you have an idea and aren't fully sure about it...it helps to do face charts so that you can see a rough kind of "sketch" of how you would like the final product to be and also helps work out colors.
For the shine under the eye I just applied eyeshadow with lip gloss (that stick shiney clear type) over it...

The tattoo type design on the model's arm was my own design, I just painted it on with acrylic paint mixed with a little bit of medical glue.

It's really just a bunch of research...looking at fashion and styles, then using them to portray the look you want. I find make-up very much like drawing or painting, so that is that way that I look at it. Rather than blank paper or canvas you have blank skin.

Thanks very much for the tips! I'm taking a makeup design class for theatre right now, but what I'd really like to get into is the sort of experimental, wild and crazy makeup seen on runways and in fashion magazines. I've been playing around a bit with replicating what I see in photos - sometimes it works, sometimes not, but it's a lot of fun. With any luck I hope to approach somewhere what you're able to do

Keep up with the replication make-ups. You know sometimes they aren't as hard as they seem (your head just makes up think that)...and also have an open mind for using the typical make-up products where you wouldn't normally use them...eg: lipstick as eye shadow, eye shadow as lip stick etc...sometimes thats why make-ups are hard to copy...because what you thought they used they didn't...
