Something is attracting me to the overall mood of this photo, but I can't quite put my finger on it. I certainly am fond of the subject and I love the way the light reflects on the path.

I like the composition and the hue is lovely. The little swirl of the lantern in the right-center is really cute XD I think it could be improved if you desaturated and/or turned down the exposure just a bit. While I like the rich darks you have here, the sky is so bright that it distracts my eye from the rest of the photo. I'd really like to be able to examine all the fine textures and architecture without trying to avoid the sky. I hope this is helpful and maybe will uncover what you feel is "not quite right".

It's a wonderful shot, but I'm not really feeling the yellow color. Was this shot in black and white, or color? I would actually like to see the original color shot if it is available.

I think the sepia is a bit too strong and the saturation is a bit too high. Did you photograph it like that or did you alter it after photoshop? If so how about over laying the original image over it to make it a bit more natural?

I love the scene, I think you need to play with the contrast and sepia tones abit more.
