As a manifestation of her negative emotions, Ego is born from the self-righteous pride she holds and all of the dissenting thoughts she keeps to herself. With an ever growing envy towards those around her, Ego can be the rather destructive sort. Disillusioned with the 'need' of always being the best, Ego wouldn't hesitate to crush any competition that she considers a threat to her rightful throne. Ego is much more solitary than her 'real world' counterpart, mirroring Hikaru's difficulty to open up to others. The broken chains at Ego's wrists are a symbol of Hikaru 'breaking free' from her parents' expectations, however the fact that they still weigh heavy on her wrists still shows that she still feels as though she's under their grip.

This being said, Hikaru can get rather self-conscious about the people she's seen around, trying to keep up a basic standard of those she associates with. Idealistic and humanitarian at heart, Hikaru takes a general concern for the welfare of other people and can be diplomatic when the time calls and takes a bit of a liking to being in charge of whatever have you.

Being told at a young age that good relations with people can benefit you in the long run, Hikaru typically aims to do just that when it comes to other people. Despite trying to keep good relations with others, Hikaru doesn't have many friends whom she considers close and would willingly open up to. Because of this, she can be envious of other people's relationships as well. Naturally drawn to things that will earn her praise, she can be seen as selfless when it comes to appeasing others. However, if she constantly burdens herself with too many demanding tasks, it stresses her out considerably. Hikaru is also the sort to bottle up her stress if she cannot find some other outlet, turning said stress into negative and bitter reservations. That being said, she can respond erratically if she reaches her limits.

Although she tries to be humble, growing up Hikaru had always taken pride in whatever she does, never giving up and putting in her best efforts. As the daughter of a diplomat and lawyer, Hikaru's parents had always had her future in their best interests. Even as just a mere child, her entire future was mapped out for her; from the classes she'd take to the sort of guy she'd marry. After all, with the merits her parents had garnered for themselves, it was naturally only expected of her to follow suit. Young and naive, as she was growing up she'd always listen and obey her parents' wishes, studying and practicing hard in order to meet their expectations. From outstanding piano recitals, being well rounded in academics and sports, to being class rep throughout elementary school, Hikaru was that kid who other parents would use as an example their own kids should be more like.

But as she grew older, Hikaru grew to hate how controlled her life was. She grew envious of how freely some of her other peers could just do whatever they wanted. Not only that, she had faced scrutiny from her peers in middle school for being too much of a goody two-shoes which caused her grades to drop and her false sense motivation to falter. Eventually her temper got the better of her and had gotten into a small fight with another student. Though shocked (and needless to say disappointed) with their child's actions, luckily the incident happened as Hikaru's last year drew to a close and they had decided a change of scenery and people would probably do some good for their daughter. She was at that delicate age after all.

Hikaru had no opposition, finding it a chance to get away and start over. And so, Hikaru left the city, moving to Sugigawa to live in Shimagashi with her grandparents for high school. Hikaru was much more at ease not being under the direct eye of her parents for once and thankfully, her grandparents were just slightly more sympathetic. Rather than staying bitter, Hikaru did her best to seize the opportunity of relishing in the time she could salvage for herself. Within her first two years, she began to enjoy school a bit more despite the daunting pressure of adulthood looming over her shoulder and becoming more apparent as she now enters her third year. Stuck between doing what she wants to do and submitting to her parents' wishes once again, Hikaru fears graduation as she doesn't even know what to pursue after and only wishes to be her own person some day.

- Was expected to go to a prestigious private institution for high school but settled for less due to cracking under pressure, the decision being a bit of an upset for her parents.
- Owns a French Bulldog named Bentley.
- Has a habit of being touchy and unnecessarily intimate for the sake of seeing a reaction.
- Acts like a know-it-all sometimes but she's actually inexperienced with a good number of things. Basically book smart but not street smart. But her pride tends to get in the way so she'll probably try most things once.
