Description A study of a sketch by Giovanni Civardi , i've recently become very fond of the hatching techniques for rendering characters / people and here is my first attempt.

Most likely move this to scraps at some point but for now any criticism on the technqiue would be greatly appreciated.

It looks great Don't know why you'd want to move it to Scraps. Perhaps the hashing along the visible lower arm could use a little more defining, but the rest is all pretty sweet~

Yeah I worked with his book a bit. Love the way he does his cross hatch work. Looks like you are really good with the technique.

Definitely appears to be working for you, and you managed to still keep it clean looking. I tend to get impatient trying to keep the line evenly spaced apart.

I think i found it a lot easier as i was copying a already hatched drawing so i could mimic the strokes, i find it much harder trying to hatch from a photo.

I think this is lovely I'm personally a massive fan of hatching haha. I think with alot of practice on diferent ways on how to manipulate the hatching your cahracters would just pop x

Thanks! I agree i really love the way that you can get a realistic look yet its still obvious thats its a drawing and not just a photo. Still not lots of practice though
