Thanks bro!
Well, maybe I surpassed him by using smaller brushes (for details), time spent per piece, and sometimes using more than 1 layer of painting. but he was (and is) much better than me in the amount of paintings he made.
One of the biggest marketing tools is to have tons of artworks.
Also he was a king of communication and PR.

Great painting with this--I like the red trees framing up the mountain in the distance, it really makes it pop out.

Ah, it's alright. The foreground used to be a lot more over-crowded with rocks and lil' trees and stuff but I think it was a bit messy - plus, I'd messed around with the river so much it was just a frothy muddle. Seriously. It was so bad I didn't take a photo... And I photo EVERYTHING!

There's always a litle quirk in your paintings that catches my eye - those trees are beautiful and make me look across the mountain and back again

Aw, thanks. There's a few little niggling things like the perspective of the stream and the color of the sky but ...you should've seen it BEFORE I fixed it... lol

haha - glad you're happier with it now then. An artist is never completely happy though - it goes with the territory I think
