The Alaska Zoo got three new fox kits this year. They were plucked off the flight line at Elmendorf AFB. They were still in semi-quarantine for their own protection. This is Jaxie, he's the male of the group.Related content

When new animals come into a zoo they are put in quarantine in case they have some sort of illness or other medical problems. It also helps protect the animals from diseases that the visitors from the zoo might be carrying.
