Let's hope I got this in the correct category. It's a sketch of an original gargoyle (my own design, that is), based off of Disney's Gargoyles (sweet series ;D ). Her name is Lethe. Hope to colour her eventually, but no guarantees on that... =xRelated content

Another wonderful sketch... Yes, I like your gargoyle better that disney. And the story of her name too.
I usually don't work with greys when coloring but I guess imagination rules and I will probably ending by coloring this one too. I'll see what is going to get out from there.
The children of the night, cursed by sunlight and loved by the moon. The instoppable hunters, of wisdom untold. Often feared by the aspect. My vision of the gargoyles.

I like your style better than Disney's - and I mean that. I used to watch the series while it was still airing here on my side of the globe, but not faithfully because real life always got in the way. I like the fact that she has two pairs of wings. And to be honest, she looks a lot more...draconic, I think is the term.
And I have to agree with what others have said above: she does seem like a very powerful personality. I would not want to cross her.
Her name is interesting though... Lethe is the river of forgetfulness. All souls who are about to be reborn must drink Lethe's waters before they are allowed to be reincarnated. I am not quite sure about that information though, since it has been a while since I last reviewed my Greek mythology, but I think I am more or less accurate on that count. Does this tie in with your character somehow?

Aye, Lethe is the river of forgetfulness, but is also a goddess; daughter of Eris, she personifies oblivion. Though I haven't developed her terribly much, in my mind that could be viewed in a few different ways: She is a fierce opponent, she has a history she has forgotten or wishes to forget but cannot, and/or she helps others forget their own pasts (perhaps not entirely willingly). Since, as far as I know, gargoyles in Disney's universe can only cast spells from books/scrolls - like the grimoire - I imagine the latter will have to be saved for another incarnation.

An interesting scenario...I see now that her name is very appropriate. It has been long since I last saw an episode of the Disney cartoon, so I do not remember that little factor about the spells.
Still, yours is a very interesting concept. I can imagine Lethe being forced to purge memories as well as do the purging for people who come to her voluntarily. And she certainly radiates the power to be able to do such a difficult task.
