The horse is from my own photos.

I've been thinking about trying to rework this picture some more. Maybe adding more detail to the eye, more light effects around the head and smudging the body a little to give it a smoother look. Any comments on this or any other improvements would be appreciated. Also I'm in two minds about the mane. I smoothed it out to blend a little with the wings. Does this work or do you think it would it be better to have definite, clearly defined strands of hair? Thanks

this is a pretty awesome concept of pegasus - in space! Great idea of flight.
Yeah, definitely make the light on his head stand out a bit more its barely noticeable. Another way to possibly make the body blend more smoothly into the wings is to perhaps to digitally paint over the horse a bit with those greeny light colours. Painting over the entire horse digitally so its actually reflecting the light off the wings will make the whole piece look more cohesive I think. I think the mane with individual strands are nice. Personally I would have used a white coloured horse because they are more associated with being mythical and magical but perhaps you wanted to avoid that cliche. Or maybe even a black horse would be awesome. I guess brown kinda says to me typical barnyard animal and it looks a little strange there to me. But maybe that was the effect you were going for.
