What was my choice upon meeting the Wasteland? Both General of the Minutemen and Director of the Institute as to meet the commoner cause of the blues and the scientific advancement of the orange and white. Nothin of that prospectless future with the Railroad or the authoritarian tendencies of the BOS, which in turn might as well counter to the lessons that could be learned from the pre-Great-War world as their alliances to militaristic governments were what lead them to total annihilation.

The responsibility of man born of another time is building the groundwork for a renewed society guided by what for many are forgotten issues of the “better days”. So of course the greatest prospects for that would be the collective and arguably decentralizing ideals of the Minutemen with the technical ability of the Institute to potentially improve life in the commonwealth.

I personally hope and believe that it could be the canonical ending as it would explain the technical knowhow necessary to accomplish the manufacturing of things only possible pre-war: like robots (Automatron), nuclear reactors, energy weapons, factory guns (Contraptions), Vault-Tec infrastructure built anew in the surface of the wastes (VTW). If Fallout 4 has something special for better or for worse *(Personally I love it!)* is the ability to build, and very comprehensibly so across Boston and beyond, in ways never seen in reconstruction efforts across post-Great-War USA. That in my mind can only be possible through a reformed Institute working alongside the Minutemen.

P.D: This might be part of a very personal interpretation of my playthrough, but, Wouldn’t it be interesting if after all of the past war alongside efforts of the Enclave to terminate Communism, the bloom of a new way of society built on top of the ashes of mistakes past came out as a libertarian socialist community out of Boston? Imagine the commies of blue, rebuilding society based on need instead of profit. And it’d be very fitting of the franchise’s political strain as everything pre-war America is a satire of Late Capitalism. Plus it would catch again the themes of 50’s nostalgia as in a reignited “Cold War” with the Minutemen fighting against either the BOS or the Enclave.
