Description "I wonder what Uncle could be planning now," Zuko said, pulling on his typical fire-lord apparel.

"I have no idea," Katara said, turning her back to him and pulling her hair forward so that Zuko could zip up her new dress. She adjusted the scarf-thing around her arms and fixed her hair. "But wondering will get you no where. We can never predict what Uncle Iroh is going to do."

"You have a point there," said the fire lord, leaning in to kiss his bride. "Well, let's go find out."

The fire lord and lady were directed toward a carriage-cart pulled by beautiful white ostrich-horses. Katara fiddled nervously with her necklace, modified since she had gotten married to hold a second betrothal carving. "I seriously hope this isn't going to turn out badly," she said, stepping onto the cart with her husband. "It's also kind of late at night for one of Iroh's schemes. I mean, isn't it almost midnight?"

Zuko shrugged. Neither of them could ever predict what Iroh was going to do.

And certainly they did not predict what was coming up next. Despite being extremely dark out, with the moon covered by clouds, the square and the alleys outside of the palace were illuminated with bright fires on every corner, and paper lanterns strung up from rooftop to rooftop. Both of the royal rulers stared in awe, and wondered how this could be done right under their noses.

They reached their destination; the market square, which had been cleared out of everything but the firenation totem pole. The illumination was dim, but suddenly a light burst forth.

"Welcome, Fire Lady and Lord!" an announcer from an unknown location burst out. Both Zuko and Katara had to blink in the bright spotlight that was shining on them.

"Oh boy," Zuko muttered. There were people looking out of their windows, sitting on rooftops, and gathering around, but not in, the square, to watch this royal parade. A second spotlight was turned on and there was Uncle Iroh, in the middle of the square, a Tsungi horn wrapped around his figure.

"Oh no," Zuko muttered once more, his fingers grabbing hold of cart tightly. Katara stared in astonishment as her Uncle-in-law began to play, making his way down the square with the light shining on him the whole time. He was a decent player, though.

Then, all of a sudden, he took his mouth off the horn and started to bellow out a tune, causing Zuko to slap himself in the face, although he couldn't hide his smile, and Katara to cover her mouth to avoid being rude and laughing so hard that she would cry.

"I hope you like your Royal Serenade!" the announcer said, at which point Katara could not hold back her laughter anymore.

The idea came to me before the story did. Obviously background are not my thing. But I'm generally proud of the picture, and I love the way Iroh looks. Hopefully the story isn't too bad. And the spotlights are a little off, but I blame drunken light holders who are enjoying the royal party

Hahaha, well that was cute! Leave it to Iroh to turn something as simple as a serenade into such a grand parade. And to want to do something to make his nephew and niece-in-law happy, of course!
