Description
There lay among boulders of thought such asmorality-
mortality-
frivolous things like budding weeds of obsession,
tangling trip-wire vines of denial, dementia,
an agent orange unchecked,
no damage control.
No time, no need.
No reason, no place.
And even if there were,
we couldn't care enough anyway-
so we let our odes go to those
hiding behind too-heavy eyelashes
and oil-slick sullen not-quite-laughter,
to those who know that alone is for them
but insist upon torturing themselves with together,
flinching against too-sharp touch and lamenting
the quiet way that words loose their virginity,
until they fumble, snap
reach out with fingernails unraveling and in one sharp thrust,
rip through that cherry-flavored
fuck you.
