Isn't double exposure still photography?
But sure it could also be categorised as a photo manip.
When is a photo not a photo anymore?
This one is two photos, therefore more of a photo
than one.

Double exposure is an effect and it clearly makes the photo look like it's been manipulated. 
Doesn't look like an actual 'photo', looks like a digital edit.

But sure let's argue more about it...
