Great shot! I saw something similar to this near a park, down in a creek but there were only 2 cars, and tons of old tires and scrap metal. I salvaged a few parts from there and a few months later they filled in the creek and built something over it....made me glad i was able to save a few things, but it was sad to see such a cool place get bulldozed over...

Thank you, this is actually a small portion of the area. I would guess there are probably close to a couple dozen vehicles in the entire area. The most common identifiable large items are the cars, stoves, and beds. There are a bunch of different stoves from over the years. Some of them have some cool decorative parts I'd like to bring home, though getting anything large out of there would be difficult, as it's all in a big draw, so at best it would have to be carried up a steep hill by hand.
The beds are mostly represented by mattress springs, lots of crib size ones too. I have quite a few photos of those. I submitted my favorite of the springs shots I took but no one seems to like it but me. lol I have a couple more I'm thinking of still putting up though. I have a few more of the car shots I'm considering too. And I'm about ready to go hike up there again soon.

Judging by the amount of snow in some of your photography, i take it this is nowhere near Texas? lol If i found a place like that, id be visiting it every chance I had! lol Thats what I did with those old Model T's I mention..everytime i happened to be going down the same road id have to pull off to the side to explore, and take a few more pics
Here's the more complete, yet, crushed one: [link]
Here's the other: [link] There was a rear half for it rusted in half, I never got a pic of that...Somehow the front was torn off.

I'm in Washington. I love going out to that dump area. I was just thinking about going out today. There's a place near by that I noticed had a lot of blooming skunk cabbage, and newly emerged horsetails that I wanted to photograph (hope I haven't missed it, things bloom so fast) but just about the time I was going to start heading out it started raining then hailed. It was crazy, then it got sunny again but too late in the day. I will probably head out for awhile tomorrow. I get stir crazy if I don't get out in the woods every few days. haha

Yeh, I dont think anyone would want to be out in that kind of weather...its not worth getting klunked in the head by bits of hail..lol

I actually have old photos from the same area with similar cars when they were working.

I assume it was the local dump for awhile and they only reason that metal pieces and glass are pretty much all that's left is because everything else has rotted away. I hope to explore the ground layer more this summer.

:lol I don't think there's much chance of serious injury but there is a possibility of minor injury in case something I'm balancing on collapses. I only get on the pile if someone else is with me on the side, just in case. I'm kind of amused, no one else has been brave enough to even try it. On the other hand, I'm lighter than they are.
