I think it is a very clever design, and your machinery intricacy is as good as ever

it seems whatever i draw at the moment im not happy with it and think i messed it up but then if someone else gets a chance to see it they end up likely it. I guess i am too close to my work to see it properly.

I think this piece looks great, but you think you messed it up.

I reckon the major problem with me is my ego. I started drawing with no ego and loved everything i did. Then when people started to say it was good i felt like they had expectations of quality that lead me to have the same and cause me to grow a ego where there was none. Now i need to try and get rid of it porbally not the same case with you but if it is i hope this helps.

peace

Thank you!

I wouldn't see it as having an ego...I look at more as wanting to expand and better ones ability and skills. I think having expectations of one self is what helps us grow, although the trick is not to get totally put out when you do something that doesn't meet out own expectations (cause those are the only ones that matter). I find even when something doesn't work for me, I still get something out of it.

Anyways....Thanks again

I like all the detail and texture you put into the designs. Reminds me of a puzzle. =]

Of course, we have no idea what you envisioned, We can only see what you've posted. And I already commented on that

Most extended works have errors in them. Part of the game. The only part that really matters is how you resolve those and integrate them back into the work.

I like the way the white spaces contrast with the areas of activity. I also like the collage-like feel of the different panels. You could create more value contrast from panel to panel using transparent ink washes along with your pen. You could even start tinting the panels with color, if you want to do that.

Thanks.... I like the idea of using ink washes. Although I admit I have never really used them and think Id to experiment a little with application. Also wondering what type of paper you would use, I would assume some sort of water color paper.
Thanks again for the suggestions, always helpful!

My pleasure! Yes, experiments are good. I've been using Arches 140lb. hot press watercolor paper. It's outstanding paper, but it's expensive. Any hot press surface over 90lbs should work just fine. That includes Bristol board, illustration board, and similar surfaces.

I'm finishing a new drawing with extensive use of the brush. It should be ready soon.

Thanks for the tips....think I might practice on some cheaper paper first, then go out and get the expensive stuff!
