That, my friend, is the eternal struggle of the artist, people tend to like what the artist dislikes the most, take Sergei Rachmaninoff as an example, his most popular piece amongst the public was the Prelude in C, a piece he hated to play, but he had to play it by popular demand.
But take it as a good sign, if when you are not satisfied it has popularity, when you make something you are completely satisfied with, it will be AWSOME-ER.
