Hello all, something a little different this time.

I'd been hearing about this place, a fancy French cafe situated beside the lake in town. When I actually up and went this past week, I was struck...by...everything. The gilded decor, the light, the aroma of flaky dough and espresso in the air, the bustle of hard work and artisanship that go into each baked good. I wanted to capture it with an equally devotional digital painting. So, voila, what you see here is the result of my admiration.

Between the linework, detailing, highlighting, shading, and coloring, this took close to 8 hours. I used Photoshop CS6 and my Wacom Intuos drawing tablet. I adapted the layering technique I use in my other works to a more realistic scene. Ended up working pretty well I think! Let me know your thoughts.
