Description Developed in the latter half of the Gryps war, the RX-160 Byalant was a unique experimental mobile suit produced by the EFSF for use by the Titans. As opposed to most of the Titans' experimental mobile suits, the Byalant did not require the use of a mobile armor form or support vehicle in order to increase its mobility and speed.

The Byalant was, nevertheless, one of the fastest and most agile mobile suits of its time. Its internal structure is literally packed with thruster assemblies--the nozzles of which protrude from behind nearly every armor plate on its body. A large, high-capacity fuel tank makes up the majority of the suit's torso, and this provides the Byalant's thrusters with enough output to make sustained atmospheric flight possible (with minimal use of aerodynamic surfaces, no less).

Being designed almost exclusively for maximized mobility, the Byalant is sorely under-armed. Mounting only two mega particle guns in the hands, and two beam sabers, the Byalant has little to choose from in combat. It is, however, fighteningly effective with its beam sabers, as it can swoop down and skewer an enemy in the torso, then kick off with its feet in a savage instant-kill attack.

Sources say that only one RX-160 was ever built. It was "commandeered" by Titans ace pilot Jerid Messa in his rush to meet the Zeta Gundam (and Kamille Bidan) in battle at the Earth Federation's Kilamanjaro base.

A v-fin? Oh Jerid, no matter how many of his comrades you slaughter, you will never defeat Kamille.

Seen it. There's a limited-edition Robot Damashii figure of it coming soon. Probably cost a frigging mint though.

It looks both creepy and elegant to me. Very nice artwork, though!
oh, and I agree with Zeag about wanting to see him swordfight.

P.S. I only have two old PS1 Gundam games, but I must say I never get tired of playing them.

Most Gundam games are crap, expecially on PS2, not to mention they are kinda hard to find around here...

If you have a swap magic of have modded your PS2, try Gundam SEED Destiny: Rengou/Alliance/OMNI vs Zaft II Plus. Also awesome, even if you're a UC fan.

Nope, I have not modded my PS2, and I don't think I should even let myself.

This suit looks very weird, but I must admit i'm very intrigued to see it in a beam saber fight O_o

If you have a PS2, just go out and get Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam. You'll see

Man, that thing's R1 stab is so broken. It's way too tracking/reaching to be legal. It is fun to use in melee though.
