OKAY, I finally finish! First things first, I owe a GIANT thank you to Kyu-san, who helped me translate the titles above and who typed out all the Japanese characters for me. (Arigato gozaimasu, Kyu-san!)

Secondly, what a piece! It didn't turn out quite as good as I thought it would, but that certainly doesn't mean I didn't put a ton of effort in it! I (hopefully) got it finished in time for Juni's contest. When she first put forward the themes, I leaned towards gothic-lolita for just a few characters. Looking for refferences, I quickly realized that gothic lolita refs for men are hard to find! So that brought me to a choice between D*sney and Kimonos. In the end, I decided to combine them, and the end result is above.

A few details worth noticing:

Khalil's Boukuto and Vermeil's Katana- As most rabid Meiji era fans would know, the sword banning act is well in effect. To bring forward the character's nature (and let's face it- to have an excuse to draw them holding weapons) I gave Vermeil a Katana to show the 'evil in his heart' and his 'willingness to kill' comapared next to Khalil's Boukuto, which has no blade and would be used only for self defense and to protect.

Vermeil's and Sahya's outfits: Vermeil is, rather blatantly, dressed in traditinal Chinese clothes! I thought this would lend him an air of mystery, and make his 'abuse' of Exis a bit more interesting. The continent always makes a neat-o place to pull villains from. (My appologies to Yukishiro Enishi. He was more help than he should have been.)

Sahya's outfit was (sadly) the only European-influinced outfit in the picture! To balance out Vermeil's being from China, I decided to make all of Khalil's small details (Sahya's and Moth's outfits, and the castle behind him) from Europe, to show an open mind and make people wonder why it is he's immersed himself in foreign culture.

Anyway, I hope that everyone's respective owners will forgive me for using their characters in an odd way. I didn't cast the characters for personality, so much as who could pull of the look/attitude the best. Thanks for reading!
