These are drawings I finished of my character, Greg’s son Ace from my 1980s segment. I finally got around to drawing him more.
As I have mentioned in my last post, even though he’s a young teen during the 1980s, he is more fascinated with 1960s Garage/Mod culture. His parents, Greg and Tina got him into it from a very young age. I got the idea from my own Dad, he’s the person who got me into that culture.
I thought the funniest drawing here was the one of him wearing Greg’s old Mod outfit, which is too big on him.😆 It is basically a follow up of an old drawing I did a few years ago of him finding his Dad’s outfit. Here’s the link He decides to wear it to school with disastrous results. Many of the other kids make fun of him, which makes him feel discouraged, and makes him wish that he was alive during the 1960s. Something else we have in common 😆Greg reminds him though that he wouldn’t be his father if that was the case, and tells him that it’s okay to be different from the other kids of his generation.
My favorite drawing out of all these is the one of him with the Walkman. Doesn’t get more 80s than that.
And yes, I totally agree with him that Garage rock is underrated, especially these days. It is one of my top favorite rock genres.
