Well, not really. The heroine is supposed to be this nice girl next door who will be a great wife and mother, and has the hero;s best interests in mind whether he likes it or not. Now bring on the smart, mysterious, clever, nice alternative rival babes (setting aside the mega-tsundere ones ) who are less clingy/demanding into the mix. In spite of the rivals' charms though, we are supposed to come back around to the "proper" heroine again.
