Much like my Ult Swampfire, I've had a sketch of this sitting in my folder for a while, not sure why I waited so long to do it though.I didn't want to just take the Cannonbolt model, swap the colors, and call it a day, so I slimmed him up a bit and made him much more sharper, spikier, and shinier. I feel like most fan-made ultimates are sometimes just color swaps+spikes (something I myself am guilty of), but I think Ultimate Cannonbolt is one of the few that gets a pass. My view is that if Cannonbolt is meant to ricochet and blast through things, Ultimate Cannonbolt should rip and shred, so what better way to do that than by giving him big honkin' spikes. I like to think the black spikes can be used as projectiles, a power that's listed under his abilities, but according to the wiki he never uses it. I'd definitely have that be part of his new power set aside from tearing asphalt. Pretty pleased with it so far.

Nice Ultimate Cannonbolt, what always irked me in UA for Cannonbolt was that it was just a color change and spikes were added, at least for the other ultimates there were some changes in physique/appearance this one definitely gives the vibe of what the other ultimates had, actual change and evolving. I can't wait to see Rath!

Thanks! I was never huge on them either, I’ve been vocal on my view that Albedo should’ve had that function instead of Ben since I think the gimmick fits him better, but I’m honestly having a good bit of fun translating them to Ben’s form!

Yeah, it would make for very interesting fights where Ben has to take on darker, stronger versions of his aliens and they'll have improved versions of powers he's used. I never liked it with Ben because he didn't have to think in a fight, he just goes Ultimate and suddenly he's nigh unstoppable.

Not to go on a full rant here, but I feel like the concept itself really didn't even need to be its own separated show from Alien Force, could've easily just been season 4 and 5 or something. I don't think Ben even used the feature that often, further negating the need to make a separate thing from it seeing as how the main gimmick wasn't fully utilized. And like you said, even when he did, it was like he had no kryptonite. Granted, it's been a while since I've sat down and watched it, but from what I remember it just made it seem like there weren't many stakes for Ben.
Another nitpick I have is it was mainly just the main AF set he used for his Ultimates (aside from Wildmutt and Way Big, of course). I think it would've been more interesting since they were also marketing the show with bringing back the original aliens to use them as new ultimate forms for Ben. Then by the finale, have Ben turn into some his AF set's Ultimates and then ending on Ultimate Alien X, literally the Ultimate Alien. To me, that makes way more sense than using Way Big to fight what is essentially Cthulhu.
I don't despise Ultimate Alien, I can see why people enjoy it, but I'm just not super enthralled with the direction they went with the show. Hell, I love Omniverse, but it has obvious flaws. I feel like Ben 10, as a whole, is guilty of having really neat concepts but really hit or miss execution.

Well you know how cartoons have been for the past few years. Sometimes they get a new gimmick and suddenly the show gets a new subtitle like with Avengers Assemble having Ultron Revolution (S3), Secret Wars (S4), and Panther's Quest (S5). These all were essentially the same show, but different stuff happening in each "series".
Yeah, they didn't choose aliens very well for the Ultimate Function, but I think looking at each one, the decision might have made based on what toys can be made of each one. Ultimate Alien X would of been a better fight than "Sir Ben the Knight" and isn't even an alien during the final strike against Vilgax.
UA has some good ideas, but you have to dig through the bad stuff surrounding it. Yeah, you're probably right on good concept, bad execution for many ideas in the franchise.
Oh, and if there's one thing I really hate about Ultimate Alien, it was that the series tried to make the Ultimate Aliens into actual beings with minds of their own and they were stuck in the Omnitrix and somehow get out by the end of the episode and are living beings. That episode really broke the logic meter for me on this show.

That’s true, I guess I just didn’t really see the point to renaming the whole show. I mean, OV sorta did it with the Galactic Monsters Arc, but that was just that: an Arc. They didn’t have to actually rename the entire show the same way UAF did. But that’s just me, I suppose.
That sorta flows into the whole “good idea bad execution” thing as well. A lot of the ideas are cool, but they have to fit toy mandates and it sorta messes up the flow of the story. Unfortunately, the reboot suffers from this quite a bit. You can see what they want to do and they really want to make it more interesting, but following the toy line seems to be CN’s main priority. However, I don’t work on the show and still don’t fully know the ins and outs, so I could totally be dead wrong here.
“Ultimate Sacrifice” is regarded as one of the better episodes of UA, and I can see why. I think it’s a true testament to Ben’s heroic nature and sorta revisits an interesting concept of the alien DNA in the Omnitrix being conscious and trying to take Ben over. However, what doesn’t make sense is once they’re out of the Ultimatrix they just sorta...fuck off and never get brought up again? You’d think that’d be another episode of the Ultimates trying to fit in on their planets or something. I don’t know, I just feel like it’s weird how they sorta vanished. Although, Khyber does have an Ultimate Vaxasaurian helmet in his ship’s trophy room...oh dear...not so Ultimate now, huh....

Yeah, I suppose when you really get down to it, there's just no difference between AF and UA besides the Ultimatrix gimmick so it's separating the series' for a small, but noticeable difference.
Well, we haven't been given anything to argue against that point, so any direction works at this point until CN tells it doesn't.
But you see where this contradicts itself, right ? Alien Force tried to establish that the Omnitrix doesn't have DNA inside it, it is merely a device that receives a signal from the many DNA at the Codon Stream to change the user into a different alien. So with no DNA, there shouldn't have been any sentient minds inside the Ultimatrix and it doesn't ever explain how the sentient Ultimate Aliens came to think on their own, they just appeared. I don't need everything explained to me, but one simple reason would of sufficed.
It was indeed weird that they never came up again. I just guess that Khyber hunted them all down since they might be considered the Ultimate Prey and he only kept Ultimate Humongousaur's helmet because he was the only one who put up a fight.

I'd say a slight drop in quality would be the main difference, if anything.
I suppose that since it was the Ultimatrix, not the Omnitrix (since the prototype was destroyed), it could just be because it was crudely made? It may have been linked with the old database, but that doesn't mean everything was in tip top shape. It's alien tech mixed with earth tech, I'm sure something went wrong there despite Albedo's intelligence.

I’m really annoyed people don’t do Ben’s aliens’ alternate forms, like Cannonbolt’s and Ultimate Cannonbolt’s sphere form, Whampire’s bat form, grown Humungousaur, Eye Guy with only his chest eye, and so on.
