Hey. HetaOni is a fanmade "game" (looks like an old rpg-game, but it's actually a video) that tells a fanmade story. It covers the genres horror/mistery/drama and the basic stories is that the Hetalia characters enter a mansion and are unable to escape. As time goes by some of them disappear and encounter foes, but I don't wanna spoiler it in case you wanna watch it.Β
To be honest it took me some time to get into, but the story gets better and the fanworks for HetaOni are incredible too.

not to mention England is also reversing time, like how when one of them dies in kagerou days the other one repeats the day
just as in hetaoni the times repeated

I haven't watched Kagerou Days (well only one episode), but yeah, it's sad that Italy is so helpless.

You know, the one thing that always made me much more... amazed by HetaOni and its fanworks was that they both play on humanity's greatest fears: being alone and the unknown. The way HetaOni shows how Veniciano reacts to both of these in the same breath is so realistic, I now see him in a completely new light.
Another thing about HetaOni that interested me (from the instant I watched KyoKoon's playthrough of the part where Italy reveals his experiences in the mansion) was that it was never said how many loops Veniciano went through, or how long each loop was. It's possible that each loop is several weeks in length, and he's been through it a thousand times, or even more.
So, to sum up my little... whatever you'd call this... This piece reflects everything I think of when I think of HetaOni. It's like an art version of a fanfic that I might have written if I had the time (or inspiration) for it. Thank you for drawing this - it has made the HetaOni fanbase that much better.
(sorry that I haven't commented until now... I was busy making a new game with RPG Maker VX Ace. don't tell anyone, but I'm making a horror game! not Hetalia-related, but still, it's exciting.)

You're welcome for the comment, and I guess I could tell you about my rpg/horror/fantasy game... Geez, when I say it like that the first thing that comes to mind is HetaOni...
It's called The Seven Fables: Fragmented Penumbras. The story takes place in a made-up world, and each fable tells more about the world and its history. I'll type the drive-thru (fast food... get it? ... nevermind...)version instead of the full one (if you want the full one, I can PM it to you.):
Three princes, all supposed to have virtuous qualities, have twisted their lessons to fit their own goals. The eldest brother becomes avaricious, the middle brother becomes vain, and the youngest brother becomes wrathful. They each steal a piece of a very valuable gem vital to their land's safety and form their own kingdoms. When the princes' parents pass on, the three kingdoms force people to migrate to them. The princes end up kidnapping maidens as their wives, and are rewarded with children, whom they promptly raise to have the same moral compasses as themselves.
The princes' great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandchildren are in power,Β and eventually, the three kingdoms go to war, but end up declaring a ceasefire due to an all-around shortage of soldiers.
The main character is a victim of the issues in one of the kingdoms (the player can choose which one at the start). Since children are short in the kingdoms due to the war, each king has decreed that marrying and mating animals is necessary for their survival. The citizens do not argue, as nobody remembers a time when the brothers weren't in power. Therefore, there are children who look like half-human, half-animal experiments that escaped from a laboratory.
The king (of the player's choice) is trying to recruit the main character into his army. The story can take two paths: join the army and fight, or run from the army and fight. In this land, fighting happens, no matter where you go. (Ooh, sounds like something I'd put on a movie poster - better reserve that for the trailer... )
What do you think?

innes-chan In reply to NatfromGameFire [2013-12-08 13:53:06 +0000 UTC]
I honestly think it's an amazing concept. It can be a bit confusing at first, but I think that if you accompany the story with pictures there should be no problems. The basic story is quite intriguing and macabre at the same time. In my opinion it fits the genre relaively well, but as of now it sounds more like a dark fantasy game, not so much a horror game. What I think though is that it will be rather hard to make two story paths, meaning it will be a lot of work. I just made a simple game once with an acquaintance, but that was already a lot of work.
And well, I get the background of the story, but what's the main goal? To unify the kingdoms and get rid of the vicious kings or just trying to survive?
Anyways, if you can pull it off I'm sure that there would be a lot of people who would enjoy that game, me included.^^

It's actually relatively easy to make two story paths in RPGMVXA. I just use 'events' and stuff like that so that, if they choose one thing, certain things happen, and if they choose something else, different things happen. This way, if someone restarts with a new game, it can be completely different from the first game, and it'll be more fun to replay it over and over.
The story is revealed in the beginning as scrolling text. And yes, it's still in development, so it isn't horror yet. But it will be. (I hope...)
I'm also having a friend of mine (in real life) make music for my games. Turns out they've always wanted to make music for video games, so it's a win-win.
However, I do need someone to help me with sprites. Know anyone who can help me?

I see. Well, I have no idea about those things. Makes sense though.
Hmmm, I'd still try to put some pictures in there. There are people that need to see something to understand it better. I see. Well, I guess that was just the beginning of the story/game you told me of.Β
That's pretty awesome. You're lucky that you've got a friend like that.Β
Hmmmm, no I don't think I know anyone who does sprites. I'd help out but I'm bad at making them, so it wouldn't help. Sorry.

Wikipedia is usually a good start though. Well anyways, making games is not my cup of tea I guess.^^
I see. That's probably a dood idea.
And it makes it easier and the process faster as well, right?^^
Nah, sorry, can't help you with that.Β

At my school, all the teachers say that wiki is a bad place to start, so the students adopted that attitude. Also, in Axis Powers, the Japanese creature Britain meets says "You could always check Wiki! I'm sure they've nailed it!" To which the three of them promptly laughed.
Seem to work in my game, so I'll use it!
Yep! Otherwise I'd never finish my games! ... like, ever...
I know, and it's okay. I just wanted to know.

I see, so I assume you're form the US? I've heard that wikipedia is considered bad in America^^. While I was in school the teachers just said we shouldn't use it, because it would make everything too easy xD (In university we aren't allowed to use it either though) Hahaha I don't even remember that episode/strip.Β
That's good then^^
Haha sounds like somethign that would happen to me.

Lovely art style; I especially love the shading. I also think it was brilliant how you showed the four different expressions on Italy as he goes through more and more time loops. The way you showed that things were getting worse and worse for him by changing the season was really just...an inspired idea, I think. And that last panel, with the items associated with the countries, with the broken glasses, was just the final touch to a perfect peice.
I think that the only problem is how these just sort of step all over me and make we want to
