Step by step Ila watched as the land around her turned barren and desolate. The cold alone was enough to keep anyone from visiting such a place, but something about the stillness of the land sent a shiver down her spine. They were headed for the ridge of the elders, a long forgotten place not many dared to visit anymore. Failed hunts, sickness and misfortune had changed that. Elders suggested it was the work of a angered spirit, and an offering may just be the only solution. So, she set her sites on appeasing the great Aippaq. Tokala moved with a careful stride, almost a bit wary as they neared the edge of the cliff that marked the spirits domain. Glancing up at the sky he let out a small chuff, almost as if he sensed something she couldn't. It was eerily silent with not the smallest bit of wind or snow, almost as if the earth was holding its breath, waiting. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted something that made her do a double take, the loose snow had lifted from the icy ground, drifting upwards as if gravity had vanished. She watched in awe as the sky lit up around her, the aurora swirling and twisting in the sky forming a familiar shape. The snow and lights drifted towards each other encircling the travelers in an icy embrace. Ila smiled and looked up to meet Aippaq's gaze, overcome with joy by witnessing this rare, once in a lifetime moment.

An Entry for this weeks weekly quest over at Tokotas ! The theme was too great to miss out on this week, I mean just look at this gorgeous concept by Seenyurr . Their art inspires me so much, go check them out. Man it feels like forever since I've actually posted a finished piece instead of just dumps of unfinished crap.
