That ghastly flock with thunderous screeches and millions of eyes.
I get really irritated by them, especially in the summer, when the noise makes me close the windows. Someone's too important to travel by land, even with cortege.

Well, I don’t sing it, regardless. I respect the best of the old ways, but I believe in progress, in the Chestertonian sense.
Speaking of which, this poem sums up my feelings on the matter:

it's so beautiful, with many different layers of interpretation imo
reading the comments, I think my first feeling when seeing this was a mix of your description and LittleLilac95's comment: I was thinking the lady had put bread crumbs on the floor so the "birds" would come down to eat and stop making that infernal noise

Funny thing — since I draw this based purely on "what it feels like at the moment", it is always wonderful to hear how much you can see in the drawing. A Rorschach test of sorts)

This is beautiful and speaks volumes. To think they throw down the last of theyre bread to feed the helicopters (a symbol for the wars everywhere? ) so much mixed feelings with this. Absolutely stunning piece

I live in a rural area that’s a thirty-minute drive from a military base and sometimes when they’re out on maneuvers their helicopters fly over my house. It doesn’t happen too often though so mostly I just like to watch them fly over.

I like to see them too, when it's not "the season", and there's a couple a month. Though I suppose the maneuvers near military base are more entertaining)

I hate it when helicopters fly over my home. We have the same problem in America with Army helicopters flying over our cities sometimes. It gets very annoying because of how loud the jet engines are. And the place shakes from the force of the rotors.
