Why? Both sounds good, I think ^^
But for the german one you need to understand the lyrics xP

What are the actual lyrics to "GeiΓel der See"?
I couldn't find them anywhere, German or English...

Do you want me to translate all of it <.>
Well, it's basicly about a pirate who tells
what a Bad Person and how mean He is,
but all the examples He gives are more
Like pranks of Childs and nothing really Bad

That actually sounds pretty hilarious!
Hey, random question:
There's going to be a military reenactment here in a few days,
Do you think I could get in free if I dress in one of my old uniforms?

You can try xD

Believe me, I will.Β I even convinced my two cousins to come with me.
I have not been to a reenactment in years. The days of being 'Village Child #01' were so long ago...

There are hardly any reenactors in Germany, so I have never been to such an event

Meanwhile, over here we have so many reenactors and reenactments happen so regularly, they built a fort just for the hell of it.

It is awesome. Every Halloween they turn it into a giant hunted house.
They normally do Revolutionary WarβCivil War era reenactments there,
but tomorrow they will have the Opening Ceremony, a World War I era battle scenario,
a Revolutionary War era assault on Fort Watauga, a Civil War era field skirmish, and a World War II era assault,
in that order.

All of them if I'm lucky, it is a 4-hour-long special event.

Especially over here. Americans don't really have an eye for detail when it comes to foreign uniforms...
Fortunately, I think my friends at the surplus shop are supplying some of them.

Pretty often I have the feeling That americans
(Not all of course) don't have an eye for Details at all.
Not only with uniforms, but also ideas, wars and so on <.>

cowboyjt In reply to InkREDspot [2015-11-07 03:55:03 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, Americans have a history of whitewashing or out right ignoring historical fact...

And we interpret everything so it makes us the Bad boys. No part of History you can be proud of and if you are, you are a Nazi <.>
I don't dislike the way of thinking that there is no good or Bad in History, but over here it seems to be corrupted into; We are always Bad, no matter what, No questions
At least in popular History. Science is mostly neutral ^^

cowboyjt In reply to InkREDspot [2015-11-09 00:42:44 +0000 UTC]
And over here we have the exact opposite. We interpret everything so it makes us the Good Guys.
From Balangiga to No-Gun-Ri, everything we do is somehow justified.
There is no part of History you can not be proud of; and if you are not proud, you are a Traitor.
We are always Good, no matter what, No questions.
... ... ...
Speaking of Nazis, the reenactment went pretty good.
The WWI guys didn't show up, neither in my cousins, all because of the rain,
and we missed everything that happened yesterday...
But they had some of it again today, so we got to see the WWII reenactment and some weapon demonstrations.
I even had my picture taken with the Hauptmann.

Yeah... Remember what I said about whitewashing and ignoring historical fact...
... ... ...
Sorry, but I don't thank I can post it...
Ever since the elderly couple down the road started passing around rumors about me being a grave-robber,
I have tried to steer clear of stuff that would further damage my reputation.
Having a random picture of me standing next to a Nazi Offizier floating around the inter-webs would most likely get me run out of town...

A grave robber? O.o
What the Fuck? How did they get that idea? <.>

Well, just over a year ago, last October, I walked over to the old cemetery in front of the store I work in.
I had when over there to get the names of veterans for my History class.
Now at the time, the store was trying to get a beer license,
and the elderly couple who lived across the street didn't like that to much...
I guess they had just read my father's obituary, and thought:
"How to we get back at a family trying to make an honest living selling goods?
Β I know! Let's get the Step-Son of the owner to kill himself!"
So they came riding across the field in their old, red, pick-up truck,
jumped out by the fence, and stared yelling at me, calling me a grave-robber,
saying everybody in town hated me and were always complaining about me.
All of this after I explained why I was there, and that I had spoken to the Groundskeeper.
I even ask who was complaining about me, and the guy just told me the F-off.
Then he said that they would be 'Surveying' me.
I left, and decided not to call the coppers.
The couple are fairly infamous around here,
My doctor even had a run-in with them, and he lives three towns away!
Some people.........

Yeah, they sound like the weird idiot type... Every village has at least one, towns far more...
We had one who was kinda stalking everyone... Watched into Windows, walked through gardens and so on <.>

Quick question,
What is the name of the cloth strap that is affixed to the second from the button on an Offizier's uniform?

Do you mean the strap of the Iron Cross? It's the medals strap.... <.<

"...For everyday wear, only the ribbon was worn from the second hole in the tunic button."
Really? I thought there would be some special meaning behind it...
Like with Cockades or Collar-Tabs...
Now I just feel stupid... (v_v)Β
