Muriel is considered quite the strange mermaid by her family. Even for a trader, she is quite obsessed with humans, finding them truly fascinating. She wears clothes casually and acts as she believes humans do because she loves their culture. The clothes she does have are made of knick knacks that she has stolen or that have been traded to her. If she could grant her own wishes, she would be a shifter mermaid so that she would be able to look more into what humans are like and how to be more like them.
i realized shes actually turning into arial so lemme just say unlike arial who was more shy to mermaids and more of an outcast, preferring to be alone or with her animal friends,, muriel is always wanting to talk or help to anyone that will let her, no matter what species. shes weird, but in a different way welp this has been a weird tangent
if she was used in the series for real she could be kind of a bridge between unfamiliar mermaids and humans if one was ever needed
