Description This was taken during one of my last days in Toronto, I was upset because there was virtually no sun during my whole stay, so my shots of Toronto architecture were to be against grey skies (sun eventually did break out, see my other submissions )...but the dreariness ended up suiting the shot quite well..

getting the right exposure was difficult! tell me what you think...

Dan zeggen ze altijd: "Negen Oktober, dat is de dag, die je niet vergeten mag!" Of "Negen Oktober is de dag, dat je taart eten... nee wacht die klopt niet. Whatever... Iig, Georgina Verbaan is dan ook jarig.

God, wrom heb ik t nu over mn vj

I like it; it's very monochrome, and the lighting lends a feeling of endlessness to the heights of the buildings.

Nice! I like the colors, the white sky and the left building.
I think it could be more appealing if you removed other buildings but the two main ones, what do you think?

Oh that's awesome, how the buildings just seem to fade into the light. it makes you wonder how high it acutally goes.

when i submitted this i thought it was overexposed and a bad thing that you can't see the top of the building....but now the more i look at it, i think more like you do..the building seems to stretch upwards endlessly.

thank you for the !!

firts of all you should put the buildings a bit more horizontal(simetry with X)..

but it's still a great photo.. love that black and white.. so clean.. no noise.. it's great and the building material gives it soft metalic tones..

sweet

my 17-50mm lens shows some distortion at short focal lengths, so the straight lines all get skewed....composing a shot aligned to thex-axis usually loses the vertical alignment, and vice versa...sometimes i like the distortion, sometimes i dont....more money will mean a better lens
thanks for the comment!

Amazing. It's so crisp. The way that the building on the left looks like it's made of small blocks and then the building on the right made of large panels gives a great contrast. Just amazing. Fave'd.

dj-tempora [2004-11-30 09:18:02 +0000 UTC]

What a perspective, indeed. The clarity is really amazing, must have been a nice day besides the grey sky. It's hard to explain why this shot strikes me... it's just so... crisp. Light balance seems pretty good, but it's a little overexposed at the top.

Nice shot overall.

indorock In reply to dj-tempora [2004-12-01 19:46:10 +0000 UTC]

thank you yep i tried everything to get perfect exposure, but the light from bottom to top varied enormously, so this ended up being the best compromise...
