This is my first attempt at Steampunk, I hope its something worth looking at XD; *shot*This took me FOREVER, this was an exercise to understand using textures and making metal LOOK like metal in photoshop.
This is my second character concept, and I am very happy with her. Though I may have to go back (AGAIN) to touch up the dark shadows. It would look fine on my computer and then I would take it to class and everything is just TOO dark. =____= its annoying. Other than that, I want something better for a background, but as of right now this is a placeholder.
I was inspired the a new band I am a huge fan of, Steam Powered Giraffe, and it made me want to design my own automaton. I thought about one that would be like a music "box." She sings and performs for those her Master desires. However, her master passed and now holds the soul passion of her creator. She lives without being plugged into her "wall" and freely wonders. She helps assist a few kids who are on a journey though their dream-like adventure. I am thinking of a story for this particular character. The next couple of paintings will feature her but will be in an actual illustration. I am Very excited to see where this character can take me.

I have a story line already for her, but I don't mind giving her an alternative universe to reside in.

Yay! I can't wait to see what you come up with! I think the steam punk culture is awesome (I've only been a die hard fan of it for a little over a year (about as long as it's been since I first heard Steam Powered Giraffe). I've seen 3 SPG concerts since and I've found a steam punk restaurant/pub near me ... its been great.
But the ideas are flowing for me, and I hope they do for you too! ^_^

I just got into SPG because of a friend got to see them in concert at Youmacon. I now own their dvd and I an in LOVE with The Spine, but everyone else is just as amazing and loveable!~

No, I WISH. My friend got to go. And he told me all about them when I was helping him with a few art projects he was working on, and he got me hooked. I have their Dvd they released from their site. I have only been to OhayoCon, which is HUGE and fun, but someday I want to go!!

I like the concept for this character, but I must say... that is a fantastic glow effect 
lmao, I know how it goes when it looks PERFECT on your screen but then when you use the school computer, the brightness is all sorts of fucked. xD AI's computers are the SAME DAMN WAY. -rages-

The Dress....Took me forever!
The Corset took me long because of the glow effects on the details.
