I don't know why, but this time of year can get me down sometimes. Maybe it's the heat.I recently became interested in painting dandelions. All the resources that I found online about it were a little too abstract for me, so I experimented a bit. This effect was done by making star patterns on the dandelion head with a masking fluid coated needle, making each watercolor layer darker and more saturated. The original color scheme was going to be more pink/blue, but I guess my mind is on an orange fix.
