Well, I had started this wolf for *wang-POW 's contest (you should check it out... it has a very cool set of themes), only it had a different tail. I was going to either do A: an underwater wolf (hence the weird pose and flowing hair) with radioactive stones and fishies) or b: a wolf floating i a dream world (with a freakishly 60's background) to 'break away' from reality...... since I'm lame and I couldn't pull off the other idea I had.
However, my good friend ~motivational prodded me to sketch a new banner for my roleplay (which she'll color and make super-wonderful <3) so I changed the tail to this much cooler version (I'm trying to go in a similar style as *Ulaa1993 on this one with the tail) and am uploadin the sketch.
"The hips are not too skinny! I swear!" ... O.o <3
Anyway, you may color and post ONLY on Deviantart.
You MUST give me credit for the sketch if you use it.
You MUST reply with a link to it or else I'll consider it stealing (this way I can check to make sure you credit me for the sketch).

how would you feel if I tried to color it like a japenese dragon with white fur and like a teal bluey colored tail, main, ect?

Sounds awesome. I've been meaning to come back to this and color it, but I keep forgetting about it. My friend was going to color it digitally in photoshop for a banner on my website, but it didn't come out very well so we just kind of gave up on it. I'd be very interested to see yours when it's finished. link me please?

Yep. It's a cool contest. I want to enter, but I'm so busy with trades and waja commissions (plus my rp is undergoing a renovation)... I'll probably do it just for fun, after the contest ends.

I'm thinking of cancelling the contest. It ends on Thursday and no one has entered yet. I don't think its fair to give out a prize when only one or two people participate. But thank you though for the consideration and compliment. <3

Hey hey! Looks great. This is probably the most dynamic image yet! A lot of emotion in the face too. I think this would be a RAD banner, or if nothing else, it'll be nice when coloured. I'll get on that... I'm just not sure how it'll be composed. Since it needs to be wider? So it'll have to be cropped to some extend. Overall, really nice, I'm always amazed at how great your art is. *shamed*

Thanks! The original sketch (I cleaned up the sketch using tracing paper) is a little different. I changed the face a bit, so I'm glad that it turned out well! Also, I can upload the original to photobucket if you need to. It's much, much larger than this.... then you can resize it to whatever size you want. ... if you'd like me to.

Thanks. It actually started out as a wolf hanging off a cliff, but I realized that I started it too close to the edge of the paper, and didn't have room for the hind legs or tail (so I curved the body around and managed this one). I'm glad you enjoy it.

I don't know! I tried making a sketch tutorial, but I realized that I never draw the same way twise. A lot of times I start with the paws, others, the eye, and still yet, the head and nose (like this one for example, I started with the nose). Even wierder is that I don't always 'block' in the shape. Sometimes I just do a contour outline without even sketching the shapes or form.
It's... unique? How so? I always thought it was just a not-so-great version of a couple of my favorite artists. Mostly, my current style is formed after Ulaa since I've learned so much from looking at her art.

Yeah, sometimes it gets confusing, but only when I try to get the head connected to the body! Starting from the paws just isn't that bad for me... I think it mostly depends on the pose. I do tend to start mostly from the eye though. I start with the outline then do this weird thing where I show the fur around the eye, then I do the forehead and nose, ect. You can see what I mean there, by looking at the eye.
Really? I never really thought my art was that definable from others. I mean, there's a lot of artists that use a similar style, so I never thought it'd be very original. There's a couple of artists that have very unique styles that I always recognise (lie goldenwolf or khaosdog for example).
Thanks. I drew a fairy to submit to our school literary magazine (and colored it in prismas like I do my wolves) but I wont get it back for a few weeks now. I'l definately upload it when I get it back to show you. Mostly, I'm bad at drawing people, but I make it look okay when I color!!!
