You find a leaf on the ground but... just where did it come from?

more themed adoptables! i've been having a lot of time putting a bit more thought into designs recently so i wanted to put some together using a bit more though

these ones also have custom lines!

Cherry blossoms symbolize spring, renewal and rebirth, and the fleeting nature of life.
i designed this character imagining them being very motherly and delicate, kind and relatively carefree but good with advice and very mature.
i gave her folded ears to sort of mimic the shape of cherry blossom petals- her nose and paws are also colored in a way that's meant to be reminiscent of a cherry blossoms coloration

CYPRESS -- PRECLAIMED

Cypress trees symbolize mourning and are the primary tree used in cemeteries.
to try to represent this, i used the pale color to highlight the eyes and give them markings reminiscent of tear lines. i tried to keep the lines rounded and drooping, even choosing to droop the ears instead of standing straight up. i'm not sure how well it reads, but i also tried to mimic a skull in the chest fur markings.

GINKGO -- PRECLAIMED

Ginkgo trees represent peace and hope.
i tried to keep this character bright and lively, kind of like a lemon. ginkgo leaves have a very particular shape which i tried to mimic in the cheek fluff and kind of in the tail -- i also used it as the outline for the facial pointing. i feel like this design would be a natural leader, cats feeling drawn to them for their charisma, optimism, and competence. someone who you can rely on.

BIRCH -- OFFER
  so i kind of fell in love with this one sweats

Birch trees symbolize rebirth, new beginnings, and growth.
this was the first one i did and i got a little too attached to them bc of it. i tried to make their pelt look reminiscent of a birch's bark and made their ears vaguely shaped like their leaves. birch trees are also very long and thin which i tried to represent in the tail. i imagine this character had a rough past; they found themselves drawn to battle and left behind them a wake of blood. after a near-death experience, they work towards becoming a better cat, maybe even becoming an herbalist/healer/etc.

Maple trees symbolize balance, promise, offering, longevity, generosity, and intelligence.
if you want to use this character in an rp there's half of your personality traits right there /j. i think this design is the most literal of them all with the entire maple leaf on the back but you know what? i think it's fun. i also tried to make their cheek fluff look somewhat like a maple leaf as well.

through writing these, i realized i also represented the four seasons through these cats and what season i decided to base their tree in
