Pimples // a self happy-moment journal

This is a journal of my happy-moments. I spot that things are unexpected. I don’t know what will be going on tomorrow,
even if I have planned it. That’s why I named this journal Pimples! Pimple is unexpected. Pimple is popping on our face in unexpected time. I found a lot of interesting stuff in my days, even a small stuff can be interesting and makes my day. They become my pimples. Cloud, rain, friend, family, book, music, and much other unexpected stuff can make me happy. I documented most of them by photos but many things are kept in my mind because they are unexpectedly memorized in my head. I examined the moment and all that stuff which makes me happy and created a series of exploration that express myself and links between pages.

The idea of this journal is put every single happy-moment in every spread with different style but still links each other by using photography, typography, and illustration. I explained the reason why they make me happy in each spreads. It is split up into some part: family, friends, love, exploration, and me. I put all together to be a journal-book in random format. Every single page size is different and has different cutting. I use this format to show the unexpectedness of my day. The overlapping page is showing a continuity that shows a bit part of next-page. The next-page can be part of previous page but also can stand itself.

I use five different materials to represent some pages in better way. The cover has texture to get the skin texture and by using skin color. The sweets pages use curious touch to get the marshmallow texture. Trash pages use polyester film to get the cleanliness [juxtaposing]. Just playing with paper.
