Ohmygoodness. The colors of this painting are gorgeous! I love the background--looks like a starry nebula!ย

I really love the ripples in the water! They look so real! Such a gorgeous piece! And I agree, so sad that Moontide is colorblind!

He just sees beauty in a different way, beauty has several shapes. Great work!

This is so amazingly beautiful! One of the best picture's I've seen you draw! The splashes and ripples, the little pink flowers and reflections, the fantastical sky which looks like like peering into a nebula, the beautiful background story, and - as always - your stunning realism of the horse. It is going into my favorites without the slightest bit of thought necessary. Amazing.

Even if it isn't as technically masterful as some of your others (which I think it must still be up there), then it's still so visually stunning. There's something just so awe-inspiring about the picture. Also, your horses are always so majestic, but perhaps this one hits a little deeper because of the background story (so, thanks in part to your commissioner.) The solemn expression of the horse, it's gallant and precise trotting over the pristine and delicate water with the very subtle, gentle ripples, the glowing moon in a surreal sky that manages to be both chaotic and sedate... Everything on its own is good, but when you put them all together, they become simply great.

Thank you so much! I keep meaning to make a tutorial oneday, but it's hard when I change how I do things nearly every time XD If I had to give a hint though, I'd say that the more closely you can follow a photo reference, the more realistic it can turn out. This is why i have so much more trouble with creatures like dragons and demons, because I have no photos I can refer to! (And well I guess I've also had a lot more practise with horses than with other creatures lol).

Thank you! I had a lot of fun with the watercolours in the sky; I even stole the salt and used some of that lol.
