Description So after working on Owlboy for a while, I was browsing around like I usually do and came across a few grand examples of cartooining and abstractions (like I usually also do) and I felt like experimenting a little.

I'm usually very consistent when I've selected a style for whatever project I'm working on, and as such, I keep Otus looking the same. Of course, that's only natural, but I felt I'd try to explore what I could do with his shapes a little. I like to think of him as a fairly expressive character, but it rarely commes across when I draw him because he's made to have expressions when prompted and otherwise pretty neutral. But anywhoo. Shape experimentation.

Noticed I put the jagged eyelids upside down on the Gawks (green enemy things) but I liked how it looked, so I'll allow myself to have them there this once.

Enoy and all those thingamajiggy things

I smell Saturday morning cartoon pitch!
...That is, if both Kids WB, Fox, and other stations (I assume) hadn't killed off their Sat-morn lineups.
I mean, lookit those floating Cthulu-heads! Kids LOVE dat bombs, for realz yo! EDGY!

I have my doubts they would be interested.

The guy can't talk and you have a certain quota of one liners and puns you have to fill in every episode, preferably with something exploding in the background. Just not cheesy enough I guess. Maybe if I named it "Gorgonsola Adventrues"

The game is coming along nicely though.

Hmm, true, true.... And you'd have to stick in a smart-alecky girl character to appeal to the entire kid audience.

Because as we all know, there's only two types of women in cartoon shows: The tomboy and the helpless, braindead harpy.

Though sometimes, we get those strange in-betweens. The braindead, harpy tomboy. Or the even deadlier harpy tomboy.

The braindead helplesses are less deadly. Unless they're zombies that is.

Lovely cartooning experiment!
And you're the artist for Owlboy?
Dear god! No wonder I'm so hyped for it to come out! Amazing art direction you have going on with that, and best of luck getting it published

That I am. Hope I'm not creating too much hype to meet people's expectations, but we're trying our best.

The game is going to go up for sale regardless if there's a publisher around or not, so we're not worried. Better to focus on the game than on buiness deals right?

Absolutely.
Very refreshing to hear that in an industry like today.
I don't think your group is creating a crash bound hype train,
quite the contrary, I think you're at the point it can only help you.
Well, overall I'm looking forward to it, and I can't wait until I can actually play the thing, haha.
Props to you and your team for being artists above else!
