Denmark and Norway as teenagers, I sort of see the viking age as their teenage years and their early adult years so here they are two teenage vikings... experimenting? I don't know... I just wanted to do this xD But the scanner killed my quality
I wanted to give Denmark a real viking beard but I settled with a stubbly chin because it would look crazy with a big breaded beard xD Funny? Yes... Crazy? YES! So no...
Some other time... Oh, you better believe I will do it some other time >:3
And Norway does not have his cross (Because he can't have a cross, he's not a Christian) but a piece of viking jewellery with "djur ornamentik" = I suppose it would be "animal ornaments"... It was used a lot during the viking age as decoration (/ornaments)
It's the same on his buckle.

The cross was not the christian cross. It was the nordic cross, after their flags.

Wow. I love this picture. I just... I love the position (especially of Norway) and Norway's expression and the viking adornments. Just all of it! *w* And coincidentally, I wrote a fanfic a while back with the same idea. Denmark and Norway as vikings being the teenage years and "experimenting".

Oh god, somehow you made me fall completely in love with their face shapes ;A; <3 hnnng, sooo wonderful to see Den have a bump on his nose and Nor actually being given an Adam's apple (Sorry fangirls, I do take delight in reminding people that they are /both/ male)... and those cheeks! <3
Thankfully I finally have the pleasure of seeing them without all that Christian stuff on them, really it just doesn't fit into this time period at all XD;; And yay! for long hair and beards! Seriously... it weirds me out that none of them have at least any stubble (same as Sweden)... I mean.. you're from Sweden I take it (from your profile), how many males up here in Scandinavia have you seen absolutely deprived of natural facial hair? XD;; At least I don't really know any down here - unless they shave incessantly.. Β¬_Β¬
Love the pose too, actually very calm and soothing (And cute!). Only thing I could think of that would be off about this picture in terms of making it more historically correct, would be the fact that white-dyed clothing at this time was incredibly rare. I believe it originated from the Saracens or Arabs, so unless Denmark had seriously rich, I doubt he'd have even a scrap of it XD

I used my brother's faces for Denmark because they have those typical features that I've noticed is very common in Denmark (and Iβve only seen them in Scandinavian, it must be originally from Denmark though). With the sunken cheeks and eyes and big jaws and that kind of skinny nose and sometimes a little crooked

That's true... I tried to make it grey (the original is actually a bit darker than the scanned one.) but I didn't quite succeed xD

I'll tell you it worked very well ^^ <3 And yes, I definitely think that the crooked, skinny nose, high cheekbones and a strong jaw is a very Scandinavian trait. I honestly haven't seen many men here with straight noses, lol XD Haha! Yes, Mads really is a good example of that~
It's totally weird! I mean.. seriously, I would've expected at least /one/ of them to have something resembling a beard (my headcanon is that they just shave it off, they have beards, they have to

It really is, but I think that Swedes part themselves a little from the description, they have some of the features but according to what I've seen their cheeks (for an example) are rounder. Norwegians are more like Danes, but itβs even more obvious on Danes. It's really interesting that there actually are differences since we're so similar otherwise

Haha yeah, I think so too, but then again, genetics and race diversity always intrigued me. Swedes being more like Finns I presume? There could be a connection there actually. I think us southerners are really weird compared to Norwegians and Swedes though - with what you say about the sharp features. It does seem like a rather prominent trait over here to have a sharp face. Perhaps we share that with Dutch and Germans more? XD; And I always thought the northern Norwegians are really round too in their features.

I think you're right. Finns and Swedes noses remind me of each others... they are pointier.
We probably do, Dutch and Danish traits are very similar (combined with all the other stuff thatβs very similar xD)
I've seen Norwegians with round faces but thin, sharp noses. They might have a bit rounder features as you say ...

All in all, we can definitely conclude that even though we're close, we do have unique traits. They might be small, but they're there ;o; ~ <3
