through the open window
the world will be cooler
by that color
which with a sudden rush
won't burn my cheeks
the world will be more quiet
by the frantic pounding
of a heart straining to fly
by the creaking of doors
thrown ajar
the vibrating living world
will freeze
into a nearly perfect
geometric shape
