A new comic strip I'm starting called "Life is Beautiful."

I'm trying to create more professional looking comics (despite me being an amateur). My old comic Scronic Adventures ( im-waterproof.deviantart.com/a… ) has slowly been evolving, but I wanted to start something fresh and clean it up more. I would appreciate any feedback anyone can give. I'm not afraid of any feedback, even if it's negative (so long as it's constructive and you're not just calling me a jerk...).

This is the first comic where I've done the lettering and borders on the computer (I'm awful at straight lines). I drew and colored the pictures, then did the borders and words in Publisher.

If anyone knows a good program for me to use to do this I would appreciate the advice; especially if there is anything free or well priced (I don't can't put down much right now).
