I ran my wooden fingers through my hair as I sat by the fire and watched Deidara sleep. I love watching Deidara sleep I do it every night, and have done so for years.
The one thing different was that I WASN’T enjoying watching him sleep right now. I looked over at his bed, and his bandaged body, with and IV of antibiotics in his arm, he had been unconscious for five days and sedated for three. So we are at eight and running, I don’t know how much longer he’ll be sedated for. He had some pretty bad burns, he got caught in one of his explosions, and I picked him up and brought him back here.
He actually did wake up, after those five days, but he was in such agony that he was sedated. It hurt me to see him that way. When he woke up that first time he was calm and confused at first then the pain set in and he was screaming, he NEVER did do well with pain. I was hurting I was hurting a lot.
I got up and sat in the arm chair next to me, I sat with my knees up and toes hanging off. I picked up a manga from off the table. It looked neat even thought it was number eight it had a picture of a really hot blonde boy on the cover. I started to read. Eventually the hot blonde boy, Mello, blew him self up. I threw the book agenst the wall.
Goddamn it! Why???? I had nothing else to do so I just sat.

~flash back~

“I’ll take care of it un Art will prevail.” Deidara said and flew off on his bird despite all my persuasion not to.
I let out the iron sand and immediately took out the other rouges in my way, and then I was off to find the sculptor.
I followed, yet I was way too far behind to catch up, And I was on foot.
There was an explosion of red and yellows mixing to create oranges, with black bits of soot around the edges, and a burst of heat to go along with it, I ducked down, to avoid the blast. I ran faster. This blast was bigger than most actually this was the biggest I have ever seen; wait what if the initial blast ignited the rest of the clay that was in the bags on his waist?
I ran faster. If that happened Deidara would be hurt? What would I do with out him, I love him. I never told him that, but I do. I ran faster I came to the edge of the charred and smoking clearing. Little bit’s of foliage still on fire, I ran to the blonde who was also still on fire. I ran the fastest I ever have before while pulling off my cloak and throwing it onto Deidara suffocating the fire.
He looked up at me and made little whimpering sounds, it was the only sound he could still make, his one visible blue grey eye, full of pain and pleading, as if it was saying ‘save me’ I wrapped him up in my cloak and picked him up and carried him to the nearest hospital.
The whole way there I was pushing my self as hard as I could. Trying to get there as fast as I could, the scary thoughts running my head. What if he doesn’t make it?

“Nuh…” a whimper came. He was awake!
“Be gentle…that is quality manga.” He whimpered with a tired smile.
I ran over to his side.
“Sorry…” I said, “How are you feeling?” I said.
“I have no clue un.” He said, he was really disoriented. To roll over so he could face me.
“Ehh.” He squealed in pain so he still just laid the same way as he was previously.
“Don’t move.” I said, he looked pleading with both of hi blue eyes, his hair was so that was in front of his face was burned off so I could see his whole face, it was pink and swollen, just like the rest of him, but what was underneath the bandages was even worse, his waists, were so burned form where his clay combusted that if was human I would have puked, but I did have to leave the room.
Leaned in closer, he smelled like ash and burnt flesh.
“What happened un?” He asked, in his soft pained voice.
“Well, we split up, and you went to fight the other enemy, and I finished off what I was fighting and chased after you, there was a HUGE explosion, the first blast combusted to close to you’re body and ignited the rest of you’re explosives and Kaboom.” I said Kaboom waving my arms because I knew he’d like it, and he did he cracked a smile. “When got there you were still on fire and I put it out and brought you here.” I summarized, he seemed kinda proud of his childish art.
“That is still pretty impressive” he laughed, but it was more of a whimper.
“I’m sorry un.” He muttered I could see it in his eyes.
“I was so afraid.” I said to him. “I love you Deidara.” I said leaned even closer.
“I love you too Dana.” He said blushing; I was kinda hard to tell because he face was already so pink.
I smiled.
