Description Young Reginald Foxwarder portrayed in his father's pilot uniform. Reginald loved wearing it and pretending to be a fighter pilot.
His father - WWI veteran - never liked it and always tried to stop his son from becoming an aviator "to avoid his faith". However, all his attempts were unsuccessful and Reginald eventually became a WWII ace pilot.

Looks like me when my dad is gone from home. Considering that he was a retired USMC, I always tried to wear his clothes and secretly open his gun safe.

Now that's out of the way. WWI Trenchcoats are beautiful and aesthetic. The way you made this was amazing. I couldn't be bothered less.

I hope he wasn't too angry at you for doing so, after all it shows that you're proud of him and his service (well, a gun safe is better be opened carefully though)

I find them beautiful, too. They were worn in the dark times, but they're still quite stylish!

He didn't get angry at all. Instead, he bought me to the gun store and said he'd buy me a personal rifle. But, I still enjoyed doing what I did when I was little.

I actually told him the truth and he bought me to the shooting range instead. I still kinda believed that opening his safe were a bit stupid and dumb but at least I didn't get punished.

Definitely cute, great job on the details, the clothing, the expression which fits really well here, and the background.

I often notice that the old pilot uniforms were a lot more bulky and cumbersome, as they didn't have internal pressure in the aircraft back then so they had to wear heavy clothes to avoid getting cold that high in the air; definitely flying is much easier and more comfortable these days.

Great job on this Illusir.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like this artwork.

Well, it's definitely easier overall, but I think the job is still quite hard for military pilots.

Of course no problem, its definitely very emotive and well made.

True, I suppose with the increase in equipment also comes higher speeds and more difficult maneuvering; though I don't think we're very far from planes being able to pilot themselves so who knows.

This became the family tradition eventually - all the males in the family were military pilots

I bet he wore that jacket while he was a pilot in is Thoroughbred fighter like the P-51D Mustang.
Father: WWI Pilot.
Son: WWII ACE(possible future as a F-86 Saber ACE)
Son's Son: USAF F-4 Phantom ACE or a UH-1 Huey or Cobra Pilot.

Pretty close, but Reginald's WWII planes were Hawker Hurricane and several Spitfires He also operated Hawker Sea Fury post-war.

His son later actually was an F-4 Phantom pilot in the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm

Ah, the childish admiration of the father and living to raise that greatness to the next level (or few levels).

Yeah, he was really proud of his father and was so inspired by his example that he ignored all his warnings and complaints and became a pilot

And possibly you're right about the next level of greatness - from all the pilots in the dynasty he was the most decorated one.
